Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Studio Mini / Studio Mini LTE / X100Q — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C645005185L)
This is a 3.7V, 1550mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BLU Studio Mini, Studio Mini LTE, and X100Q smartphones. It uses OEM part number C645005185L and fits the original battery slot without modification. Capacity is rated at 5.74Wh.
- Studio Mini, Studio Mini LTE, and X100Q compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The BMS handshake on each device accepts the same cell profile, so one SKU covers all three.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Studio Mini platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity, and the protection circuit tripped as expected under short-circuit conditions.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable fast charging if your carrier app or handset supports it, then run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before higher charge rates are applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Studio Mini after a cell swap
A new cell has a different internal impedance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to. Under modem or screen load, voltage sags faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the percentage readout with the new cell's actual voltage curve.
Phone stays at 1% or won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or was stored for several weeks, cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS lockout threshold — typically 2.5V per cell. The BMS enters a protective sleep state and the phone shows no charge indicator or stays off entirely. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — wall adapters supply enough current to wake the BMS from lockout. Once the charge indicator appears, the cell is recovering and normal charging will resume.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BLU Studio Mini shows the wrong battery percentage after I swapped the battery — it jumped from 60% straight to 5% and shut off. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on the Studio Mini is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. After a swap, the coulomb counter is still reading against the old cell's profile, so the percentage display and the actual cell voltage fall out of sync. Under screen or modem load, the real voltage drops to the BMS cutoff before the gauge catches up, causing the sudden shutdown. Run one full discharge from 100% to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the IC resets its calibration against the new cell after that cycle.
Fast charging stopped working on my BLU Studio Mini after I installed this replacement battery. The phone charges, but only at the slow rate.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can reject the faster charge profile until the BMS has completed at least one full charge termination at standard current. The phone defaults to trickle or standard charge as a protective measure when the cell impedance reads outside the expected range for a fast-charge handshake. Charge the phone fully once at the standard rate without interrupting the session. After that completed cycle, fast charging should re-engage on the next charge.
My BLU Studio Mini gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after installing this battery. Is that normal?
A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so more energy converts to heat during the first several charge cycles as the cell conditions. The warmth is concentrated near the battery bay and fades over the first three to five full charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger gets hot at the same time, disconnect and check the charge cable and adapter. Normal warm-to-touch during charging on a new cell at standard current is expected and resolves on its own within the first few cycles.
