Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wiko Highway Signs / Highway Pure — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLN14H22)
This 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Wiko Highway Signs, Highway Signs 3G, and Highway Pure smartphones. It matches the OEM part numbers TLN14H22 and TLE14E20. The 69.30 × 59.00 × 3.40mm footprint fits the original battery bay without modification.
- Highway Signs and Highway Pure compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all three variants without adapter or wiring changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Highway Signs platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge current ramped correctly through CC/CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected over-discharge floor.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter locks in its reference — skipping this step causes percentage jumps and premature low-battery warnings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Wiko Highway Signs after a cell swap
The Highway Signs fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When a fresh cell is installed, the IC underestimates remaining capacity and calls a low-voltage cutoff earlier than the actual cell floor. Under modem or display load, voltage sags briefly below the IC's stored threshold, triggering an immediate shutdown even though usable charge remains. One full discharge to 0% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter to the new cell curve — after that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
Phone warm near the battery during first charge after replacement
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. On the first charge cycle, the charge IC pushes current into higher resistance, which converts more energy to heat than normal. This is expected behaviour and typically resolves after two to three full cycles as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, or if the charger is above 10W, switch to a standard 5W charger for the first cycle and check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and compounds the heating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Wiko Highway Signs shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — did I get a faulty cell?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Highway Signs was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it triggers a voltage cutoff earlier than the new cell's actual floor. Run one complete discharge to 0% followed by a full charge to 100% without interruption at standard charge rate. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — is the charger broken?
The charger is not the issue. On the first connection after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not yet have negotiated the fast-charge handshake with the phone's charge IC. Disconnect the charger, power the phone fully off, reconnect the charger, then power on. This forces the charge IC to renegotiate the protocol from scratch. If fast charge still does not activate after one full standard-rate cycle, confirm the charger output — the Highway Signs requires a charger that delivers the correct voltage step for fast-charge negotiation, typically 5V/2A minimum.
The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes. What's happening?
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar cell. The IC stored reference points from the old battery and has no accurate data yet for the new cell's discharge profile. Percentage readings stabilise after one or two full discharge-charge cycles, which gives the coulomb counter enough data to build a reliable state-of-charge map. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and repeat once — erratic percentage readings should resolve by the end of the second cycle.
