Fits Bosch BBHL2214 and BBHL2214TW cordless vacuums, replaces OEM part 908BPV216 and 11026735.
21.6V at 2500mAh capacity sustains motor torque on carpet and hard floors without mid-cycle sag.
Slide connector seats straight into the battery slot with positive terminal alignment and rear locking tab engagement.
We cycled this pack through ten full discharge runs on the BBHL2214 motor load; BMS held steady current delivery without early cutoff signals.
Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge — dock trickle charging degrades capacity faster than removing it when full and charging only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch BBHL2214 Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (908BPV216)

This 21.6V 2500mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 908BPV216 in the Bosch BBHL2214 and BBHL2214TW cordless handheld vacuum cleaners. It slots directly into the battery bay and connects to the onboard BMS through the same five-pin interface as the original cell pack. Capacity is 2500mAh (54Wh), matching the factory specification.

  • BBHL2214 and BBHL2214TW fit: Both models run the same 21.6V motor rail, share the same battery bay geometry, and use the same BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both variants — no firmware or connector difference between them.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the BBHL2214 charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell pack without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to sustained motor load, cutting draw at the rated threshold before cell voltage could sag below recovery floor.
  • Dock charging discipline on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the BBHL2214 on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on Li-ion cells causes measurable capacity fade over weeks. Charge to full, then remove the battery or the vacuum from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the BBHL2214

This is a voltage sag symptom, not a capacity failure. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain fan speed. The extra current draw pulls cell voltage down faster than normal, and the motor loses torque before the indicator registers a low-battery state. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause. If sag continues with a clean filter, the cell pack has degraded and the internal resistance is too high to sustain the motor's peak draw.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a loose connection. On the BBHL2214, sustained restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to draw current above the BMS protection threshold. The BMS interrupts the circuit to protect the cells, and the motor stops. After a brief rest, the protection circuit resets and the motor restarts. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and confirm the nozzle path is unobstructed. If the cut-out recurs with a clean, unblocked vacuum, measure pack voltage under load — a healthy cell should hold above 19.5V during motor start.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bosch BBHL2214 has noticeably less suction now than it used to — is that the battery fading or something else?

If the filter is clean and the nozzle is clear, reduced suction usually points to capacity fade in the cell pack. A degraded Li-ion pack has higher internal resistance, so cell voltage sags under motor load and the motor runs below full torque even when the indicator shows charge remaining. Swap in a fresh battery and run the vacuum on the same surface — if suction returns to normal, the old pack is the cause. A healthy replacement pack should hold above 19.5V under sustained motor draw.

The vacuum runs fine for a while, then cuts out completely and comes back on its own after a minute or two — what's triggering that?

That's the BMS overcurrent protection tripping. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged nozzle, or dense carpet fibres packing the intake — the motor pulls more current than the BMS allows. The protection circuit cuts the output, the motor stops, and then resets after the cells cool slightly. Clean the filter and clear the nozzle path before assuming the battery is faulty. If cut-outs continue with a fully clean vacuum, the cell pack's protection circuit may be tripping at a lower threshold than spec, and replacement is the fix.

We leave our BBHL2214 on the dock all the time — could that have damaged the original battery?

Yes. Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle charge to Li-ion cells even after they reach 100%. Over weeks, this degrades cell chemistry and reduces the pack's usable capacity. The damage is cumulative and irreversible on the original pack. With the replacement battery, charge to full and pull the vacuum off the dock — store it unplugged until the next clean.
