Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Brother RJ-2035B / RJ-2055WB — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PA-BT-008)
This is a 7.4V 1100mAh Li-ion battery for the Brother RJ-2035B and RJ-2055WB mobile thermal printers. It slots in as a direct swap for OEM part PA-BT-008. Both models are portable label and receipt printers used in retail stockrooms, delivery runs, and field logistics.
- RJ-2035B and RJ-2055WB compatibility: Both units share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both models — no adapter or firmware change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge profile without fault codes. The thermal head and paper feed motor drew stable current across the load range without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
- First-use print sequence: After installing, charge the battery to full and print five test receipts before deploying the unit in the field. The paper feed motor calibrates its current draw against the BMS profile during those initial cycles — skipping this step can cause intermittent feed errors on the first job.
Why the RJ-2035B paper feed jams when the battery is low
The feed motor in the RJ-2035B requires consistent torque to pull paper through the thermal head at the right pressure. As cell voltage drops below roughly 6.8V, the motor loses torque and can no longer advance the paper cleanly. The result is a partial feed or a full jam — not a mechanical fault, just insufficient drive voltage. Charge the battery to full before the job and the jam clears without any manual intervention to the feed mechanism.
Faded or uneven print on a freshly installed battery
The thermal print head needs a stable voltage supply to maintain consistent element temperature across the print line. If the battery cell voltage is unstable during the first few cycles — common with a new cell that hasn't completed its initial charge — the head temperature fluctuates and produces faded or striped output. This is not a head fault. Run the unit through two full charge-discharge cycles and the cell voltage stabilises. After that, print density should be even at 7.4V nominal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Brother RJ-2035B won't print at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the battery the problem?
Extended storage lets Li-ion cells self-discharge below the BMS minimum threshold, and the BMS will refuse to drive the motor or thermal head at that point. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle before trying to print. If the charge indicator doesn't respond within 15 minutes, the cell has likely dropped below 3.0V per cell — try a different charger or USB-C port that delivers a full 5V at rated current. Once the battery reaches nominal 7.4V, the printer should power on and print normally.
The RJ-2055WB keeps dropping its Bluetooth connection mid-print job — could this be a battery issue?
Yes. The Bluetooth radio draws a short current spike when transmitting, and at low charge levels the battery voltage sags enough for the BMS to briefly throttle output. That interrupts the radio handshake and drops the connection. The fix is to keep the battery above 50% charge during connected jobs — the voltage sag under combined radio and motor load narrows significantly above that threshold. Check the battery indicator before starting a multi-label print run and charge if it shows below half.
The RJ-2035B is printing but the output is much lighter than it used to be — the battery is new, so what's wrong?
A new cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle delivers slightly unstable voltage to the thermal head, causing the heating elements to run cooler than spec and produce faded print. This is not a head fault or a settings issue. Charge the battery fully, print five or six test receipts, then repeat one more full charge cycle. After two complete cycles the cell voltage stabilises at 7.4V nominal and print density returns to normal.
