Print coming out faded or uneven on a charged battery

Faded or inconsistent print on the RP4 is almost always a voltage stability issue, not a paper or head fault. The thermal print head requires a steady voltage to reach consistent activation temperature — if the battery is ageing or partly discharged, voltage sag during head activation reduces print density unevenly across the receipt.
