Fits Casio Cassiopeia E-3000, E-3073BAT, E3074LBAT; replaces OEM A716/MBT battery.
3.7V 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 5.55Wh; matches original capacity for standard PDA operation.
Connector seats vertically into battery slot with locking tab on right side; orientation marked on housing.
Bench testing showed BMS accepted charge at 0.5A without fault codes; cell reached 3.7V nominal within 90 minutes.
Sync all open documents and calendar entries to your host computer before removing the old battery — PDA RAM loses power immediately when the cell disconnects, erasing unsaved files and application state.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio Cassiopeia E-3000 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A716/MBT)

This is a 3.7V 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the Casio Cassiopeia E-3000, E-3073BAT, and E3074LBAT pocket PCs. These early-2000s PDAs run Windows CE and store active data — contacts, calendar entries, open files — in volatile RAM that depends entirely on main battery voltage. When the original cell degrades past a threshold, the device can no longer hold state between charges.

  • Cassiopeia E-3000 series fit: The E-3000, E-3073BAT, and E3074LBAT share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all three accept the A716/MBT cell without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, standby, and active sync cycles on the E-3000 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the device, accepted a full charge without fault flags, and held voltage within spec across load transitions.
  • Sync before you swap: The Cassiopeia E-3000 stores open application state and unsaved data in RAM. That RAM loses power the moment the battery is removed. Do a full ActiveSync to the host PC before pulling the old cell — otherwise open records will not survive the swap.

Why the Cassiopeia E-3000 loses RAM data on battery removal

The E-3000 uses SRAM for its working memory. SRAM requires continuous voltage to retain data — it is not flash storage. When battery voltage drops to zero, everything in RAM is gone: open databases, unsaved notes, installed applications stored in RAM rather than ROM. Some units include a small backup capacitor that buys a few seconds, but it cannot sustain the device through a full battery swap. Always sync to a host computer via ActiveSync before removing the battery.

Cassiopeia E-3000 stuck on boot screen after fitting a new battery

A new Li-ion cell can arrive at a storage charge of around 3.0–3.2V — below the minimum the E-3000 boot sequence needs to complete initialisation. The device powers on, reaches the boot screen, then stalls or resets in a loop. Connect the device to the cradle charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.6V, the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cassiopeia E-3000 lost all my contacts and calendar data when I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it happens because the E-3000 holds live data in SRAM, not flash memory. SRAM loses everything the instant battery voltage drops to zero. The only fix is prevention: run a full ActiveSync backup to a host PC before removing the old cell. If the data is already gone, restore from the last ActiveSync snapshot on your PC.

The E-3000 just loops on the boot screen after I installed the new battery — what's wrong?

The new battery arrived at a low storage charge, and the E-3000 needs a minimum voltage to complete its boot sequence. Place the device in the charging cradle and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. Once the cell reaches around 3.6V, the boot loop stops and the device initialises normally.

My E-3000 battery drains much faster when I use ActiveSync wireless — is the new cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The wireless radio and IR sync port draw significantly more current than standby, and a 1500mAh cell at 3.7V has a finite energy budget — wireless sync will consume it faster than calendar browsing. Check that the cell is at a full charge before a long sync session, and close background applications to reduce the competing load. If drain is still severe, verify the charge completed to 4.2V before disconnecting the cradle.
