Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Axim X50 / X51 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (310-5965)
This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces part numbers 310-5965 and U6192 in the Dell Axim X50, X50V, X51, and X51V handheld PDAs. These devices run Windows Mobile and keep application state and open files in volatile SRAM, which the main battery powers directly. A degraded or dead original cell means data loss and an unresponsive unit.
- X50 and X51 platform fit: Both the X50 and X51 lines share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all four models — X50, X50V, X51, and X51V — without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an Axim X51V and confirmed the BMS negotiated charge acceptance correctly, hit full charge voltage at 4.2V, and held steady under ActiveSync and Wi-Fi radio load.
- Sync before you swap: The Axim stores open application state and unsaved data in RAM powered by the main battery. Run a full ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center sync to the host PC before removing the old cell — any data not written to flash storage will be lost the moment power drops.
Why the Axim X50 loses all data when the battery dies completely
The Axim X50 uses SRAM for working memory, not flash. SRAM requires continuous power to hold its contents — the moment the battery drops below the BMS cutoff voltage, every open file, calendar entry not yet written to storage card, and application state is erased. This is not a firmware bug; it is a hardware characteristic of the platform. Keeping the battery above roughly 3.5V under load prevents the BMS from triggering a hard cutoff. Replace the cell before the device begins showing low-battery warnings.
Axim shows "charging" but never reaches full battery indicator
This usually means the old cell has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V — and the charger circuit cannot push current into a deeply discharged Li-ion cell. A new cell resolves this immediately. Install the replacement, connect the original Dell cradle or USB cable, and allow at least two hours before powering on. If the device still shows a static charging screen after two hours, perform a soft reset by pressing the reset pinhole while the charger remains connected.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Axim X50 wiped all my contacts and calendar entries when I swapped the battery — is that normal?
Yes, and it is a direct result of how the platform stores data. The Axim keeps contacts, calendar items, and application state in SRAM, which requires live battery power to retain anything. The instant you remove the cell, that memory clears. To avoid repeat data loss, run a full sync via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to the host PC before pulling the battery — that writes everything to the host so it can be restored after the swap.
The Axim X51V won't boot after I installed the new battery — it just shows a blank screen.
A new Li-ion cell ships in a partially discharged state, and the Axim's boot sequence requires the battery to be above a minimum voltage before the device will attempt to start. Connect the unit to the Dell charging cradle or a known-good USB power source for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the screen remains blank after charging, hold the power button for 10 seconds and then press the reset pinhole with a pin while the charger is still connected.
Wi-Fi on my Axim X50V keeps dropping the connection since I put in a fresh battery — the old one never did this.
The 802.11b radio in the X50V is voltage-sensitive and draws a spike of current when it transmits. A new cell shipped at partial charge can sag enough under that load to cause the radio to reset mid-transmission. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before running any wireless sync. If drops continue after a full charge cycle, go to Start → Settings → Connections → Wi-Fi and disable power-saving mode, which reduces the radio's aggressive sleep cycling that can cause the adapter to lose its association.
