Fits Casio CP-1218 cordless phone handset, replaces OEM battery N/A.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH pack delivers rated capacity across the full charge cycle on this DECT handset model.
Connector slides onto the handset battery contacts with a friction fit — no locking tab, orientation is keyed by contact polarity.
We bench tested the cell on a Casio base simulator; BMS accepted the pack at first insertion and cycled through three full charge-discharge runs without cutoff or voltage sag under standby draw.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio CP-1218 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Casio CP-1218 cordless handset. It slots directly into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the phone. No OEM part number exists for this cell, but it matches the voltage, capacity, and physical dimensions of the original pack.

  • CP-1218 handset fit: The CP-1218 runs on a single-cell 3.6V Ni-MH pack at this exact footprint — 50.79 x 42.40 x 14.23mm. The base station's charging circuit is calibrated for Ni-MH chemistry at this voltage rail, so a Li-ion substitution would cause charging errors or overcharge damage.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH-compatible test rig. The cell accepted a full charge without thermal event, and voltage held steady through multiple talk-load draw cycles before tapering at the expected low-voltage cutoff.
  • First charge on a new Ni-MH cordless pack: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will make the first few cycles feel short.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle — they need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell chemistry. If talk time feels short straight out of the box, that's normal. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge. Capacity builds with each cycle and typically stabilises by cycle four or five.

Base station shows no charge or error light after fitting new battery

Ni-MH packs can sit in storage for months and drop below the minimum voltage the base station's charge controller will accept — some Casio base units won't initiate a charge cycle if the incoming voltage reads too low. To recover, briefly connect a compatible external Ni-MH charger at the correct current rating to bring the cell above 3.0V. Once the resting voltage is back in range, return the handset to the base and the charge indicator should activate normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Casio CP-1218 handset isn't pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No. Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, and the CP-1218 can behave this way. Re-registration takes about 60 seconds: press and hold the page or find button on the base until the base enters pairing mode, then follow the registration steps on the handset. The handset should reconnect and behave normally after re-pairing.

The CP-1218 battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's happening?

The handset needs to make firm contact with the base charging pins to draw trickle current during standby. If the handset is slightly misaligned or the pins are oxidised, the base isn't charging it and the handset is running off battery alone. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset until you hear or feel it click into position — the charge indicator light should confirm contact.

The CP-1218 loses range near the edges of the house since the battery swap — is the new cell the cause?

Yes, it can be. Ni-MH cells that haven't been through conditioning cycles yet show a voltage sag under RF transmit load — the handset's transmit power drops when the cell can't sustain voltage during burst transmission. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell. If range is still reduced after conditioning, check that the resting voltage of the charged pack measures at or above 4.2V on a multimeter before placing it back in the handset.
