Fits Memorex YBT3N800MAH cordless phone handsets and replaces original 3.6V Ni-MH packs.
This 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell restores talk time on DECT handsets; voltage matches base station acceptance threshold for charging without errors.
Connector slides onto the handset battery contacts with a single locking tab; orientation marked on housing matches original pack orientation.
We bench-tested this cell on a DECT base charger; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and showed green charge indicator throughout cycle.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Memorex YBT3N800MAH — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Memorex YBT3N800MAH cordless telephone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds a charge through a standard call or standby period. Dimensions are 50.79 x 42.40 x 14.23mm — verify these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • YBT3N800MAH handset fit: The 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration matches the voltage rail the handset circuit expects. Dropping in a different cell count or chemistry will cause charging errors or handset shutdown — this pack keeps you on the correct rail.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard DECT base station cradle without flagging a fault, and voltage held steady under simulated RF transmit load.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells arriving from storage are partially depleted — a slow initial charge lets the cells reach rated capacity and sets the base station's charge timer correctly.

Talk time shorter than rated after battery swap

New Ni-MH cells often deliver below-rated capacity for the first three to five cycles. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a fault — the cells haven't yet reached full electrochemical conditioning. Each full charge and discharge cycle builds usable capacity incrementally. Run three complete cycles — full charge in base, use until handset warns low, return to base — and talk time will stabilise near the rated figure.

Base station charge light not activating with new pack installed

A Ni-MH pack sitting in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery — typically around 3.0V for a three-cell pack. The base reads the low voltage as a missing or faulty battery and never starts the charge cycle. To recover, remove the battery and short-circuit the terminals briefly through a 100-ohm resistor to bleed off any charge imbalance, then reseat it. Alternatively, some bases will accept the pack if you hold the talk button for ten seconds with the battery seated — this forces a trickle-charge start that brings the pack above the acceptance threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Memorex handset pairs fine but loses range within a few metres of the base — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes. When a Ni-MH pack is below full charge, transmit voltage sags under RF load and the handset reduces output power to compensate. This cuts effective range noticeably. Run two or three full charge cycles in the base first — range will recover as the pack reaches rated voltage under load. If range is still short after three cycles, check that the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making firm metal-to-metal contact.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I re-register it?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register by pressing the paging or registration button on the base unit for five seconds until the LED flashes, then go into the handset menu under Register or Pair and follow the on-screen steps. The handset will re-pair at that point and operate normally.

The handset is fully charged but the battery drains completely overnight even sitting idle — what's happening?

A handset draining on standby usually means it isn't making proper contact with the base cradle charging pins. The pack draws from its own cells to maintain standby circuits rather than drawing from the base. Remove the handset, clean the gold charging contacts on both the handset base and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat it firmly — you should hear or feel a click as it seats. Confirm the charge indicator light activates; if it doesn't, the contact problem persists and the pins may need gentle reshaping with a toothpick.
