Fits CAT B25 smartphone; replaces OEM part number UP073450AL for full device compatibility.
3.7V at 1450mAh capacity delivers the same energy density as the original cell for this ruggedized device.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with the locking tab facing upward — no modifications needed.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the bench; the BMS stabilized voltage output under standby and transmission load without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CAT B25 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (UP073450AL)

This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion cell for the CAT B25 rugged mobile phone. It replaces OEM part UP073450AL and fits the B25 body directly. Capacity is 1450mAh (5.37Wh) — matching the original specification.

  • CAT B25 fitment: The B25 uses a specific cell footprint — 56.00 x 34.10 x 7.70mm — with a connector and BMS handshake tied to the phone's charge IC. This cell matches that footprint and connector orientation, so the charge circuit recognises it on first insertion.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle on the B25 charge IC and confirmed the BMS communicated correctly, charge current ramped as expected, and the phone did not throw a battery fault at any charge state.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before it starts reporting percentages or triggering low-battery cutoffs against stale data from the old cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The B25 fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that model is wrong — the IC thinks there is charge remaining when the actual cell voltage is already sagging under load. Screen-on or active call states draw enough current to collapse cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing an abrupt shutdown even though the status bar still showed charge. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard current forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn the new cell's actual capacity. After that cycle, shutdown events at 20–30% stop.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The CAT B25 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks capacity via a coulomb counter — it integrates charge and discharge current over time against a stored cell model. Swapping cells does not reset that model automatically, so the IC continues using the old cell's charge curve as reference. This produces percentage readings that jump, stall, or plateau at values that do not reflect actual cell state. Charge the phone to 100% until the charge IC terminates, then drain it fully to automatic shutdown — one complete cycle recalibrates the counter against the new cell and stabilises the percentage display.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CAT B25 shuts off mid-call even though the screen showed 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a defective cell. The B25's coulomb counter was mapped to the old cell's voltage curve, so it misreads state-of-charge on the replacement. Under the current draw of an active call, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the gauge catches up. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then a full charge to 100% termination — after that cycle the gauge recalibrates and the mid-call shutdowns stop.

The CAT B25 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

A cell left in storage can self-discharge below 2.5V per cell, which trips the BMS into lockout to prevent damage. The phone will not respond to the power button in this state. Connect the original CAT charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC runs a trickle pre-charge recovery routine that brings the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage climbs above roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.

The battery percentage on my CAT B25 jumps erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 40% in minutes, then climbs again without charging.

Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap mean the fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's discharge model as its reference. It is not measuring actual charge — it is estimating from a curve that no longer matches the installed cell. The B25 will not auto-correct this in normal use; it needs a forced recalibration cycle. Drain the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off — after one complete cycle the fuel gauge IC locks onto the new cell curve and percentage readings stabilise.
