Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CATERPILLAR B25 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (UP073450AL)
This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the CATERPILLAR B25 ruggedized smartphone. It replaces OEM part UP073450AL and slots into the same battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.
- B25 compatibility: The B25 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a proprietary connector and a BMS that handshakes with the phone's charge IC. This cell uses the same connector pinout and communicates correctly with the onboard fuel gauge — the phone recognises it as a valid cell on power-up.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the B25 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases cleanly.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first charge onward.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the B25 after a cell swap
This happens because the B25's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the old curve mapped to 20–30%, the phone interprets it as a low-voltage cutoff and shuts down — even though usable capacity remains. The fix is a full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, repeated once or twice. After two full cycles, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage readings stabilise.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the initial charge cycle than a broken-in cell does. The B25's charge IC pushes constant current into a cell that hasn't yet settled to its steady-state internal resistance, and that difference shows up as warmth near the battery bay. This is normal for the first one or two cycles and resolves as internal resistance drops. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full charge, check that the cell is seated flat — any gap between the cell and the back cover traps heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my CATERPILLAR B25 show the wrong battery percentage after I fit the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the B25 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell — it doesn't auto-update when you swap in a new one. Until the coulomb counter recalibrates, the percentage reading will be off, sometimes by 15–20 points. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff followed by a complete charge to 100% with fast charging off. After two of these cycles the gauge tracks the new cell correctly.
My B25 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?
If a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage to the cell. The phone won't respond to a normal power-on press because the BMS is blocking current flow entirely. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, at which point normal charging resumes.
Fast charging stopped working on my B25 after fitting this battery — is something wrong?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the B25's charge IC may not immediately negotiate the fast-charge protocol with the new BMS. This is normal — the controller defaults to standard 5V charging until it confirms the cell parameters are stable. Complete one full standard charge cycle to 100%, then let the phone discharge below 30% before plugging in again. Fast charging typically re-engages on the second or third cycle once the BMS and charge IC have exchanged cell data.
