Fits JCB Toughphone Sitemaster 2 and TP305 models, replaces CS-CAB250SL battery.
3.7V, 1450mAh capacity sustains the modem and display draw without premature shutdown.
Connector slides into the battery slot with flat orientation; locking tab secures downward.
We bench-tested the BMS through five charge-discharge cycles; fuel gauge IC tracked accurately.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JCB Toughphone Sitemaster 2 / TP305 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 1450mAh (5.37Wh) for the JCB Toughphone Sitemaster 2 and TP305. Both models share the same battery bay dimensions (56.00 x 34.10 x 7.70mm) and the same cell voltage rail. It replaces a worn or failed original cell to restore normal phone operation on site.

  • Sitemaster 2 and TP305 fitment: These two models use the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell fits both. No modification needed at the housing or contact plate.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Sitemaster 2 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly on first insertion, and the charge IC accepted the cell without fault codes or thermal cutoff events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after fitting, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. The phone's fuel gauge IC calibrates to the new cell's discharge curve during this cycle. Skipping it can cause the percentage readout to jump or report cutoff at the wrong level.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Sitemaster 2

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The phone thinks 20% is a safe level, but the new cell's actual voltage under modem and screen load drops sharply at that point. The voltage cliff triggers the protection circuit before the OS can execute a clean shutdown. One full discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging off resets the coulomb counter and maps the new curve correctly — after that, the percentage reading tracks accurately.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this cell sat long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge input as a protection measure. The phone will show no response — no charging indicator, no boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at least 5V/1A and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC applies a trickle current that slowly brings the cell above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my JCB Toughphone Sitemaster 2 show the wrong battery percentage after fitting this replacement cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the Sitemaster 2 stores the discharge curve of the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still calibrated to that worn curve — so the percentage it displays is based on the wrong reference. Run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge fully to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and the percentage readout stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the phone after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?

This is normal on the first cycle after a cell swap. The charge IC on the Sitemaster 2 negotiates the fast charge protocol against BMS parameters; on a fresh cell, the BMS sometimes holds the charge rate low until it has completed one handshake cycle. Charge the phone fully using a standard 5V charger first. On the second charge cycle, reconnect your fast charger — the BMS will accept the higher current rate once it has completed the initial calibration pass.

The Sitemaster 2 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is the replacement cell faulty?

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several charge cycles. During the first few charges, the charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, and the extra resistance converts some energy to heat. The warmth is normal and reduces after three to five cycles as impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger disconnects automatically, check that the charge IC voltage at the connector is reading 5V — anything above 5.2V points to a charger fault, not the cell.
