This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the CAT S22 and CAT S22 Flip rugged smartphones. It uses the OEM part number BTE-2000 and fits both flip and standard variants of the S22 platform. Capacity is 5.18Wh, matching the original cell specification.

• S22 and S22 Flip platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell works across both variants without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery on an S22 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, cleared fault flags, and began charge acceptance without requiring a manual reset.
• Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CAT S22 after a cell swap

The CAT S22 shuts down before the displayed percentage hits zero because the fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. A fresh cell has a steeper voltage cliff under modem and screen load than a worn cell — the phone interprets that voltage drop as a hard cutoff. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. One complete discharge cycle down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge, forces the coulomb counter to resync against the new cell's actual discharge profile.

Device not powering on after the BTE-2000 sat in storage

Li-ion cells ship in a partial state of charge and continue self-discharging in storage. If the cell voltage drops below 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and will not pass current to the device. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. Most BMS circuits will begin trickle-charging the cell back above the 2.5V threshold and exit lockout automatically.
