Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Xiaomi 13 Pro — 3.89V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP4D)
This is a 3.89V, 4700mAh (18.28Wh) Li-Polymer cell built to replace the original BP4D battery in the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Mi 13 Pro 5G (model numbers 2210132C and 2210132G). It fits where the stock cell sits — same footprint at 82.70 x 63.60 x 5.50mm. Replace it when the original cell no longer holds charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- Xiaomi 13 Pro platform fit: The 2210132C and 2210132G share the same battery bay geometry, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 13 Pro unit, confirmed BMS communication was accepted, and verified the charge IC reached full termination voltage without tripping overcurrent protection.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new BP4D cell has a discharge curve the phone's coulomb counter has never seen before. Under heavy modem or display load, the phone pulls current the fuel gauge IC cannot predict accurately, and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage reads zero. The phone reads 25% but the actual cell voltage has already crossed 3.4V under load — shutdown triggers. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter baseline and the shutdowns stop.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Xiaomi's HyperCharge protocol requires the BMS to handshake with the charge IC before high-rate charging is permitted. On a brand-new cell, the BMS may present a high impedance state that causes the charge IC to fall back to standard 5V USB charging as a precaution. This is not a fault — it resolves after the first full charge cycle when the BMS registers the cell as initialised. If fast charge still does not activate after the second full cycle, check that the original Xiaomi charger and cable are in use, as third-party accessories often cannot complete the HyperCharge handshake regardless of cell condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xiaomi 13 Pro shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the 13 Pro is calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, so it misjudges the voltage cliff on a fresh BP4D under screen or modem load — the phone hits BMS cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% with fast charging turned off. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the premature shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my 13 Pro jumps around erratically after the swap — 60% one minute, 48% the next. What causes this?
Erratic percentage jumps mean the fuel gauge IC is still interpolating between its old cell model and the actual voltage it is reading from the new BP4D. The coulomb counter accumulated error over the life of the original cell, and that error carries over immediately after a swap. Force one complete discharge to zero — let the phone shut itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the charger early. That full cycle gives the IC enough real data points to rebuild an accurate state-of-charge map against the new cell.
My 13 Pro will not power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation. How do I recover it?
A Li-Polymer cell in storage self-discharges slowly, and if it dropped below approximately 2.5V the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage — it will not pass current until a minimum threshold is restored. Connect the phone to the original Xiaomi charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell at a low rate specifically to bring it out of deep-discharge lockout. Once the cell reaches around 3.0V the BMS releases, the phone registers the charge, and a normal boot sequence becomes possible.
