Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Google Pixel 6a — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GLU7G)
This 3.85V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original GLU7G cell in the Google Pixel 6a, GB17L, Pixel 6a 5G, and GB62Z. It fits the same physical envelope — 96.30 × 45.00 × 5.50mm — and connects to the same flex connector the factory cell uses. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold charge or triggers unexpected shutdowns.
- Pixel 6a and GB17L platform fit: These variants share the same battery bay dimensions, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all listed models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on a Pixel 6a. The BMS accepted the handshake, charge current ramped correctly, and the device reported capacity without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before fast charging pushes high current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pixel 6a after a cell swap
The Pixel 6a uses a coulomb-counter-based fuel gauge that builds its state-of-charge model from learned discharge curves. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile than the aged cell the firmware was calibrated to. Under a modem or display load spike, the cell voltage dips faster than the gauge predicts, triggering an emergency cutoff before the reported percentage reaches zero. Run two full discharge and charge cycles without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC relearn the curve and the shutdowns will stop.
USB-PD fast charging not activating on the first cycle after replacement
After a cell swap, the charge IC on the Pixel 6a defaults to a reduced current limit until it confirms the new cell's BMS is responding correctly. On the first plug-in, this can look like slow charging or no fast-charge indicator at all. This is not a fault — it is a protective handshake. Complete one full standard charge cycle, disconnect, then reconnect to a USB-PD charger and fast charging will re-engage at full rate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Pixel 6a shutting off at around 25% after I replaced the battery?
The fuel gauge IC is still running a discharge model calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The new cell has lower internal resistance, but the firmware doesn't know that yet — so when modem or screen load pulls a current spike, voltage sags faster than the gauge expects and the device cuts power as a protective measure. Run two complete discharge-to-charge cycles at standard charge speed without fast charging. After that, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell curve and the premature shutdowns stop.
My Pixel 6a is showing battery percentage jumping around erratically — is the new battery faulty?
Not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. The Pixel 6a tracks state of charge using a coulomb counter that was tuned to the previous cell's discharge curve. A fresh cell has a different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the reported percentage will jump until the IC has a full reference cycle to work from. Let the phone discharge to below 5% on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% twice. After those two reference cycles the percentage reading will stabilise.
My Pixel 6a won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage — how do I recover it?
If the cell discharged below approximately 2.5V in storage, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent charging a deeply depleted lithium cell at full current. Plug the phone into a genuine or USB-PD certified charger and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold first. Once the cell climbs above roughly 3.0V the BMS releases the lockout and the phone will boot normally.
