Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CCE 1600 Neo / 1700 Neo / 1800 Neo / 1900 Neo — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (9049-BAT.01)
This is a 10.8V, 700mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the CCE 1600 Neo and compatible Neo-series payment terminals. It fits the 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 Neo models, which share the same battery bay, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a transaction session.
- Neo-series compatibility: The 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 Neo terminals run the same 10.8V power rail and use the same physical connector and BMS handshake. One battery covers all four models because CCE standardised the battery module across this generation.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, idle, and active transaction loads. The BMS accepted the handshake correctly and the charge IC entered top-off mode as expected without triggering any fault flags.
- First-use calibration on Neo terminals: After fitting this battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Payment terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The receipt printer motor draws a short current spike at the moment it fires — on a Neo terminal, this can trip the BMS overcurrent protection if the cell hasn't completed its first full charge cycle. The BMS interprets the spike as a fault and cuts output, causing the terminal to reboot mid-sale. Run the terminal through a full charge to 100% before putting it into service. After that first cycle, the BMS adjusts its overcurrent threshold based on the calibrated cell capacity and the trips stop.
Terminal won't power on after sitting unused in a drawer
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If a terminal sits unused long enough, the cell voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the BMS locks out power delivery entirely to prevent damage. Connect the terminal to its charging dock and leave it for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the recovery threshold, at which point the BMS re-initialises and the terminal will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My CCE Neo terminal shows the battery stuck at 99% and won't reach 100% — is something wrong with the new battery?
Nothing is wrong. The charge IC on Neo terminals switches to a slow top-off mode when it detects a new cell, which holds the indicator just below 100% for longer than usual while it conditions the cell. This is normal behaviour on first charge and clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Leave the terminal on the dock until the indicator moves — it will complete the charge and read correctly from the second cycle onward.
The terminal completes the PCI boot sequence but freezes on the initialisation screen after fitting the replacement battery — what's causing that?
The Neo terminal runs a BMS handshake check during the PCI boot sequence, and a cell that hasn't been charged yet can fail that check, causing the boot to stall. The fix is straightforward: place the terminal on its dock, charge it to 100%, then power it off and back on. That full charge-boot cycle lets the BMS confirm cell capacity and complete the handshake, allowing the boot sequence to finish normally.
The terminal gets noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is the battery the cause?
During heavy use, the terminal is running the display, wireless radio, and receipt printer simultaneously, and that combined draw generates heat across both the battery and the main board. The battery itself contributes some warmth as it discharges under load, but the Neo's thermal management is sized for this. If the terminal gets hot enough to throttle or shut down, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — a high-resistance connection forces the cell to work harder and increases heat output at the battery end.
