My CM5 feels warm during busy transaction periods — is the battery overheating?

Warmth during heavy use is expected on the CM5. The terminal is simultaneously driving the touchscreen backlight, the receipt printer, and a wireless radio — all from a single 3.85V cell — and that combined draw generates heat in both the battery and the main board. The Li-Polymer cell in this battery handles that load within normal operating range. If the terminal feels hot to the touch rather than warm, or shuts itself down, check that the terminal's rear cover is fully clipped closed — poor contact reduces heat dissipation and can cause a thermal shutdown.
