Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga Rockstar 29600 — 28.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (T-DC49L)
This is a 28.8V 2500mAh (72Wh) lithium-ion battery carrying OEM part number T-DC49L. It fits the Cecotec Conga Rockstar 29600, Rockstar 6500 Century Ergowet robotic vacuum cleaners. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to complete a cleaning cycle.
- Conga Rockstar 29600 and 6500 Century Ergowet compatibility: Both models run the same 28.8V battery rail and share the T-DC49L connector and BMS handshake profile, so one cell covers the full platform without any wiring changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Conga Rockstar platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the dock charger, current limits held within spec, and the protection circuit responded to overcurrent conditions as expected.
- Dock charging habit for this robot: Do not leave the Conga on its charging dock permanently between sessions. Continuous trickle charging accelerates capacity fade on these cells. Charge to full, then remove the robot from the dock until the next cleaning run.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Conga Rockstar
The Conga Rockstar's motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted. That elevated draw causes voltage to sag on a weakened cell before the indicator circuit registers low battery. The robot loses suction performance while the display still shows adequate charge. Clean the filter and check the brush roll before concluding the battery is the fault — if suction restores after cleaning, the cell was not the issue.
Motor cutting out mid-cycle and recovering a few seconds later
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the Conga's suction path is restricted — blocked filter, tangled brush roll, or a tight carpet pile — motor current spikes above the BMS protection threshold and the circuit opens to protect the cell. The BMS resets after a few seconds and the motor restarts. Clear the restriction first. If trips continue on a clean filter and unobstructed brush roll, measure resting cell voltage; a healthy 28.8V pack should read at least 29V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Conga Rockstar 29600 seems to run for less time than it used to even with a new filter — what causes that?
A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drains the cell faster even though the filter looks serviceable. Remove and tap the filter firmly, then check the exhaust port for trapped debris. If the runtime improves after a thorough filter clean, the battery was not the issue — restricted airflow was. Run a full charge cycle and recheck before assuming the cell is underperforming.
The replacement battery charges on the dock but the Conga cuts out within the first minute of cleaning and won't restart until I re-dock it — what's happening?
That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered at motor start-up, not a charging fault. The motor draws a sharp current spike when it spins up from rest, and if the brush roll has any resistance — hair wrap, carpet fibres, or a sticky wheel — the spike exceeds the BMS threshold and the circuit opens. Clear the brush roll and side wheels completely, then place the robot on a hard floor for the first test run. If the cut-out stops, the motor-start surge was the cause, not the cell.
I left my Conga Rockstar on the charging dock for several weeks while I was away — now it barely cleans one room. Is the battery recoverable?
Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle charge that degrades lithium-ion cells over time; several weeks is enough to cause measurable capacity loss. Run two full discharge-and-recharge cycles off the dock to recondition the cell — discharge until the robot stops, charge fully to 28.8V, then remove from the dock. If capacity does not recover after two cycles, the cell has permanent fade and the battery needs replacing.
