Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo C4500 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C4500BAT-6)
This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery that replaces the original C4500BAT-6 cell in Clevo notebooks. It fits the C4500, C4500Q, W240EU, W250HU, and over 129 additional Clevo models that share this battery slot and connector. When the factory cell degrades and stops holding charge, this brings the machine back to full portable operation.
- C4500 platform compatibility: The C4500, C4500Q, W240EU, and W250HU series all share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — that is why one part number covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Clevo hardware. The BMS handshake initialised correctly, charge acceptance was consistent across all three cell groups, and protection circuits triggered at expected voltage thresholds.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery only, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without powering on mid-cycle. This forces the BIOS to recalibrate its fuel gauge against the new cell and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap.
Clevo BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swap
The Clevo firmware stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS reads no accumulated cycle history and flags the battery as unknown or unhealthy — this is a firmware artefact, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the BIOS battery learn cycle against the new chemistry. Until that cycle completes, health warnings and inaccurate capacity readings are expected. After one or two full cycles, the reported health figure normalises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The OS reads a state-of-charge figure from the old calibration table, so it shows 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped to the BMS cutoff threshold — the system shuts off without warning. The fix is two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles charged back to 100% each time, which lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve accurately. After calibration, the percentage readout and the actual remaining capacity will align, and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows shows the battery health as "Consider replacing your battery" the day I installed it — is the new cell actually faulty?
No — the Clevo BIOS reads health data stored in the EEPROM of the previous cell, and a brand-new cell has no cycle history, so the firmware flags it as degraded. Run the laptop down to hibernate on battery power only, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without powering on mid-charge. That single learn cycle writes fresh calibration data and clears the warning. If the alert persists after two full cycles, check that the cell voltage at full charge reads 12.4–12.6V with a multimeter at the connector.
The battery percentage jumps around wildly — it reads 60%, then skips to 15% without warning. What is happening?
The fuel gauge IC inside the battery pack calibrates its state-of-charge model against the discharge curve of the cell it was paired with at the factory. A replacement cell has a slightly different curve, so the gauge reads inaccurate percentages until it maps the new cell through real cycles. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging fully to 100% after each one without interruption. After those two calibration cycles the percentage readout stabilises and the random jumps stop.
System information shows a lower Wh rating than the 48.84Wh on the product page — why does the number not match?
The Wh value shown in Device Manager or system profiler is pulled from the EEPROM data embedded in the battery pack, which stores the rated capacity programmed at the cell factory. The 48.84Wh figure on the product page is the actual measured energy capacity of the cells. These two numbers come from different sources and a small gap between them is normal — it does not indicate a fault or a capacity shortfall. Confirm actual capacity by running a full discharge cycle and checking that the laptop sustains a full working session before the BIOS calls hibernate.
