Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo NH58RAQ Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6-87-NH50S-41C00)
This is a 14.4V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 2200mAh (31.68Wh), carrying OEM part number 6-87-NH50S-41C00 and NH50BAT-4. It fits the Clevo NH58RAQ alongside a broad range of NH-series laptops including the NH55RGQ, NH70RHQ, and NH58RHQ. Voltage and connector pinout match the original cell exactly.
- NH-series platform fit: These NH-series models share the same 14.4V four-cell architecture, BMS handshake protocol, and battery connector — which is why a single part number covers the full range. The BMS communicates state-of-charge data over the SMBus line, so connector alignment matters as much as voltage.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an NH58RAQ chassis. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, charged to full capacity, and discharged through full CPU and display load without triggering a premature low-voltage cutoff.
- First-cycle calibration after install: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The NH-series BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM. When a replacement cell is installed, the EEPROM contains factory default values that don't match the learned discharge curve the BIOS previously recorded. The system flags this mismatch as degraded health even though the cell is new. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the BIOS rewrite its battery profile and clears the warning.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's actual discharge curve. The OS reads a state-of-charge percentage based on data from the old cell's profile, so the displayed percentage and the real remaining voltage drift apart. Under full CPU and display load the cell voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff while the screen still shows 20–30%. Two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles bring the fuel gauge IC back into sync — after that, shutdown should occur below 5% as displayed.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Clevo NH58RAQ BIOS shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% straight after fitting — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The NH-series BIOS stores battery identity and cycle data in the old cell's EEPROM; when a new cell goes in, that data is blank or mismatched and the system reports it as unknown. Run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle writes fresh data to the BIOS profile and the reading normalises.
Windows is reporting this battery's capacity as roughly 32Wh but the system info screen shows a different Wh figure — which one is correct?
The 31.68Wh figure in Windows power report is pulled directly from the cell's EEPROM and reflects the actual chemistry rating of this replacement — that number is accurate. The figure shown in system info or a third-party tool sometimes reads the Wh value the BIOS cached from the original cell's EEPROM, which can differ. After one full discharge and recharge cycle the BIOS updates its stored value and both readings will align at 31.68Wh.
The NH58RAQ stops charging at around 80% and never reaches 100% — is the replacement cell undersized?
Cell size is not the cause. Clevo's BIOS on several NH-series models ships with a charge-limit setting active, capping charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during AC-connected use. Check the Clevo Control Center or Energy Manager utility for a "Battery Care" or charge threshold toggle and set it to 100%. If no utility is installed, enter the BIOS setup and look for a battery charge limit option under the Power menu — disable it, save, and reboot.
