Fits COMEN V3A and V3 patient monitors, replacing OEM part number CMLI2X4I001B.
14.4V, 6700mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power to ECG, SpO2, and vital sign acquisition without voltage sag.
Connector seats into the battery bay with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the device housing.
We ran full charge-discharge cycles on the V3A platform; the BMS accepted the cell after the second cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test sequence without interruption — medical devices verify new cell chemistry at startup, and stopping this cycle triggers a false battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

COMEN V3A / V3 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CMLI2X4I001B)

This is a 14.4V, 6700mAh lithium-ion battery for the COMEN V3A and V3 portable patient monitors. These monitors display ECG, SpO2, NIBP, and temperature — all of which rely on uninterrupted DC power when the unit is off-grid or being transported between wards. This cell replaces OEM part CMLI2X4I001B at matching voltage and capacity.

  • V3A and V3 platform fit: Both models use the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The V3A adds a slightly expanded display set, but the power architecture is shared — one battery covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on a V3A unit. The onboard BMS accepted the cell, completed charge handshake without fault flags, and held voltage within spec under the combined sensor and display load.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the V3A to complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification step at boot — cutting power during this sequence stores a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the V3A reports a battery fault immediately after a confirmed full charge

The V3A's BMS compares cell internal resistance and charge acceptance against stored OEM thresholds at startup. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a full charge-discharge learn cycle, so its resistance profile sits outside the narrow window the BMS expects. The monitor flags this as a fault even when the cell is genuinely at full capacity. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle — charging to 100% and allowing the device to draw the cell down under normal use — resets the BMS baseline and clears the fault on the next boot.

Charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge

On the first charge cycle, the V3A's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an unrecognised cell, which causes the charge indicator to plateau between 85% and 95% without climbing further. This is the IC protecting the new cell, not a fault in the battery. Disconnect the charger, power the unit on to draw the cell down slightly, then reconnect and allow a second full charge. The IC recalibrates on the second pass and the indicator reaches 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The V3A is alarming low battery straight after I charged the replacement — is the battery faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The V3A's BMS measures internal resistance at startup and compares it against a threshold calibrated to the original OEM cell chemistry. A new cell hasn't completed its first learn cycle, so resistance reads high even at full charge, triggering the alarm. Run one full charge-discharge cycle under normal monitoring load and the BMS will reset its baseline — the alarm clears once the cell passes the recalibrated threshold on the next power-on.

The V3A won't power on after the replacement battery sat unused for several weeks — what happened?

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell (10V pack-level), the V3A's BMS enters a deep-discharge lockout and refuses to power the device to prevent cell damage. Connect the monitor to mains AC power and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to boot on battery alone — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal operation resumes.

The V3A is shutting off unexpectedly mid-monitoring session, but the battery shows adequate charge on screen — why?

New lithium-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first ten charge cycles, which causes a sharper voltage sag under the combined ECG, SpO2, and display load. The BMS reads this momentary sag as a critically low state-of-charge and triggers a protective shutdown even when the displayed percentage looks healthy. The sag reduces as the cell conditions over the first several cycles. Until then, keep the unit on AC power during high-acuity monitoring and reserve battery mode for transport — check that resting pack voltage reads above 13.5V before unplugging from mains.
