Fits Coolpad 8017 smartphones; replaces OEM part number CPLD-127.
3.7V nominal, 1500mAh capacity delivers the original power output for calls, messaging, and app use.
Connector seats flush into the standard smartphone battery slot with no modifications or adapter plates required.
We bench-tested this cell in the 8017 platform; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes or charge delays.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad 8017 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-127)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Coolpad 8017 smartphone. It carries OEM part number CPLD-127 and fits the 8017 directly. Voltage and capacity match the original cell specification.

  • Coolpad 8017 fitment: The 8017 uses a specific connector pinout and BMS handshake tied to the CPLD-127 cell. This replacement matches that pinout, so the charge IC and fuel gauge IC communicate correctly without throwing a fault state.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held within the expected cutoff range — no premature high-voltage cutoff, no undervoltage lockout tripping before the cell was genuinely depleted.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the Coolpad 8017 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The 8017's fuel gauge IC builds its percentage model from learned discharge data on the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that learned curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry. The IC is still reading against old reference points, so it shows incorrect percentages. One complete discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and lets the IC relearn the new curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a call, GPS fix, or screen-on burst — even though the reported percentage still looks acceptable. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet correlated that percentage reading to the actual voltage floor of the new cell. Under modem or display load, the cell dips below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS has time to react. Run one full calibration cycle first, and confirm the cell rests at approximately 3.7V when fully charged and unplugged.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Coolpad 8017 shut off at 25% and now won't turn back on — is the new battery dead?

It's not dead. The BMS tripped into undervoltage lockout after the cell voltage collapsed under load during that final shutdown. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 15 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to push enough current in to lift the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, which sits around 3.0V, before the phone will respond to a power-on command.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging after I fitted the CPLD-127 — is that normal?

Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A fresh high-impedance cell draws current less efficiently at first, and the charge IC dissipates that difference as heat. If the warmth stays mild and fades after two or three full cycles, nothing is wrong. If the phone stays hot to the touch throughout a full charge after cycle three, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell forces the charge IC to work harder and generates more heat.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my 8017 — the phone charges slowly now.

The charge protocol negotiation between the USB-PD controller and the new BMS sometimes fails on the first cycle if the BMS hasn't yet accepted the handshake from the charge IC. Fully discharge the phone to auto-shutoff, then charge it from zero using the original Coolpad charger. On the second cycle, the BMS completes its initialisation and the fast charge protocol re-establishes. Using a third-party charger on the first cycle can prevent this handshake from completing correctly.
