Fits BLU Studio G, D790, D790U, and D790L smartphones using OEM part C71544200T.
3.8V, 1900mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge capacity lost through repeated cycles.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab or orientation trick.
We ran discharge cycles on a D790 unit; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Studio G / D790 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C71544200T)

This is a 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original C71544200T battery in the BLU Studio G. It fits the D790, D790U, and D790L variants — all of which share the same battery bay and connector. Capacity figure is 7.22Wh at the rated voltage.

  • D790 variant coverage: The D790, D790U, and D790L share an identical battery footprint, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all three — no hardware difference between them at the battery interface.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on D790 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge within normal variance across the full curve.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the D790 is calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets it rebuild the coulomb counter baseline against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Why the BLU Studio G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Studio G uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model from the old cell's charge and discharge history. When you install a new cell, that learned curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry. The gauge reads from a stale model, so the percentage shown on screen can drift significantly from real charge state. One full discharge down to automatic shutoff, followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the IC to re-anchor its endpoints and rebuild the curve against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Studio G

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Under heavy load — LTE modem activity, screen at full brightness, active apps — the cell voltage drops sharply at low state-of-charge. The phone's protection circuit sees the voltage fall below its cutoff threshold and shuts down before the percentage reaches zero. It typically appears at 20–30% because that is where a new cell's voltage curve drops steeply under load. If it happens consistently at the same percentage, run one full recalibration cycle first. If it persists, check that charge termination is actually reaching 4.2V at the battery terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

The BLU Studio G powered off at around 25% and now won't turn back on — what happened?

The cell voltage dropped below the BMS lockout threshold under load, and the BMS has now cut the output to protect the cell. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — the charger trickle-feeds the cell back above the 2.5V recovery threshold. Once the BMS re-initialises, the phone should boot normally and begin a standard charge cycle.

After fitting the new C71544200T cell, the battery percentage jumps around erratically — is the battery faulty?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating, not a faulty cell. The IC's coulomb counter was mapped to the old cell's discharge curve and is now reading against a cell it hasn't modelled yet. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the IC resets its endpoints and percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Studio G — what's blocking it?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the D790 can refuse the fast-charge handshake because it hasn't confirmed the new cell's impedance profile yet. Charge once at standard speed using the stock charger with no USB adapter in the chain. After that first full charge completes, the IC accepts the fast-charge protocol on subsequent cycles.
