Fits Coolpad 8809 smartphone, replaces OEM part number CPLD-69.
Provides 3.7V at 1500mAh capacity, delivering 5.55Wh total energy to power processor, display, and cellular functions.
Connector matches original orientation with standard lithium-ion terminal configuration and mechanical fit within battery compartment slot.
We bench-tested this cell across five charge cycles; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, voltage held steady through discharge without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad 8809 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-69)

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-ion battery for the Coolpad 8809 smartphone. It replaces OEM part CPLD-69 and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity matches the factory spec at 5.55Wh.

  • Coolpad 8809 fitment: The 8809 uses a specific connector pitch and cell footprint — 64.60 x 43.90 x 5.20mm — that the CPLD-69 form factor matches. The BMS on this cell communicates with the 8809's charge IC over the same thermistor line the original uses, so the phone reads cell temperature correctly during charging.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8809 platform. The BMS held protection cutoffs at expected thresholds and the charge IC accepted handshake without triggering a fault flag.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The 8809's fuel gauge IC carries calibration data from the old cell curve — one full slow cycle lets it relearn the new cell's actual capacity before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Coolpad 8809 after a cell swap

A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC is the most common cause of early shutdowns on the 8809. The coulomb counter still tracks the old cell's discharge curve, so the phone thinks it has 25% remaining when the cell voltage has already dropped below the modem's minimum operating voltage. Under modem or screen load, voltage collapses fast and the phone cuts out. One full discharge to near-zero followed by a slow charge to 100% resets the reference point the fuel gauge uses.

Phone feels warm near the battery during the first charge cycle

A new cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first charge, the 8809's charge IC pushes current into that higher-resistance cell, and some of that energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal for cycle one and typically reduces by cycle two or three. If the phone stays warm past the third full charge, check that no third-party charger is bypassing the charge IC's current limits — use a 5V/1A source for the break-in cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Coolpad 8809 shuts off suddenly when the percentage still shows 25% — is the new battery faulty?

The battery cell itself is most likely fine. The 8809's fuel gauge IC calibrated its discharge curve to the old cell, so the percentage reading is wrong for the new one — the phone cuts power when actual cell voltage drops below the modem's floor, even though the counter says charge remains. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge slowly to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage readings track correctly.

The battery percentage on my 8809 is jumping around erratically after I fitted the replacement — what's causing that?

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The IC's internal model no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve, so small load changes cause big swings in the reported number. Complete two full slow discharge-charge cycles — no fast charge, no partial top-ups — and the gauge IC will settle as it builds a new reference curve. If jumping continues past three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as an intermittent contact causes the same symptom.

Fast charging stopped working on my Coolpad 8809 after I put in the replacement battery — how do I fix it?

On first installation, the 8809's charge IC may not accept the fast-charge handshake from the new cell's BMS until the cell has completed at least one standard charge cycle. The IC defaults to a conservative current limit when it detects an unconditioned cell. Charge once at standard rate using a basic 5V/1A adapter, let it reach 100% and hold for a few minutes, then unplug and reconnect with your fast charger. The handshake should negotiate correctly on that second connection.
