Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad Modena Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CPLD-368)
This is a 3.8V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Coolpad Modena and its T2-series variants (T2-00, T2-C01, T2-W01, and others). It replaces the original CPLD-368 cell when the existing battery no longer holds sufficient charge due to aging or damage. Dimensions are 81.14 x 54.00 x 3.70 mm — confirm fit against your existing cell before installation.
- Modena and T2-series compatibility: The T2-00, T2-C01, and T2-W01 all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake as the standard Modena — which is why a single CPLD-368 cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Modena platform. The BMS accepted the cell without rejecting the charge cycle, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge cutoff thresholds at the expected voltage floor.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing erratic percentage readings from day one.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Coolpad Modena after a cell swap
A fresh cell can still trigger abrupt shutdowns at 20–30% because the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the aged original cell. When the modem transmits or the screen brightness spikes, current draw causes a sharp voltage dip that the gauge misreads as a critically low state-of-charge. The phone's protection circuit then cuts power even though real capacity remains. One full discharge-charge cycle — taken to actual flat and charged to 100% — resets the coulomb counter and aligns the gauge to the new cell's curve.
Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells in storage self-discharge slowly, and if the cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. The phone will show no response to the power button — not even a low-battery icon. Connect the device to a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Once the BMS detects the trickle charge bringing voltage back above the threshold, it unlocks and normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows nothing after 30 minutes, try a second charger — the issue is almost always insufficient input voltage from a weak USB source.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Coolpad Modena showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new CPLD-368 cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the Modena was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell — it doesn't automatically reset when a new cell is installed. Until it recalibrates, the percentage reading can jump, stall, or report flat when real capacity remains. Run one full cycle: drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's curve and percentage reporting stabilises.
My Coolpad Modena won't fast charge after replacing the battery — it just trickle charges instead.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current while it assesses the new cell's impedance. This is normal behaviour — the controller is measuring internal resistance before committing to higher charge rates. Charge the phone fully once at the lower rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle once the charge IC has logged the new cell's impedance profile.
The Coolpad Modena feels warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — is something wrong?
A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell generates slightly more heat during early charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC is working against higher internal resistance, which dissipates as heat until the cell conditions over the first few cycles. Warmth that fades after two or three full charges is normal. If the phone stays hot throughout a full charge after the third cycle, check that the charge current hasn't been locked at a high rate by a third-party fast-charge adapter — switch to the original Coolpad charger and verify the phone cools within the first 15 minutes of charging.
