Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad S100A Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-36)
This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion battery carrying OEM part number CPLD-36. It fits the Coolpad S100A, S116, E28, and F650, among others. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- S100A, S116, E28, and F650 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V nominal voltage rail, identical connector pinout, and a BMS handshake protocol that accepts the CPLD-36 cell without firmware flags or charge inhibition.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the CPLD-36 through full charge and discharge cycles on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, held charge termination correctly at 4.2V, and triggered low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold without premature shutdowns.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Coolpad S100A shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap
A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under modem transmission or screen load, current draw spikes and voltage drops faster than the IC predicts — the phone hits the hardware cutoff before the percentage counter reaches zero. This isn't a fault in the replacement cell. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve, and the premature shutdowns stop.
Phone shows incorrect battery percentage after installing the CPLD-36
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model from the original cell. When you swap in a new cell, that model is mismatched — the percentage reading drifts, jumps, or stalls at a fixed value. Force a full recalibration: drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100% with the screen off where possible. After one complete cycle, the IC rebuilds its model against the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises to within a few percent of actual charge state.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Coolpad S100A won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the new cell dead?
The cell likely dropped below 2.5V in storage, triggering BMS lockout — a protection state that blocks all output to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charging indicator appears within that window, the cell is recovering normally. Once it reaches approximately 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone will power on.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the new CPLD-36 — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge controllers default to a conservative constant-current profile while the BMS negotiates the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake against the new cell's impedance characteristics. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the fast-charge protocol typically re-establishes on the second session once the BMS has logged initial charge data. If fast charging still doesn't activate, test with the original manufacturer charger to rule out a cable or adapter fault.
The S100A feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during the first few cycles. Mild warmth near the battery compartment during charging is expected and will reduce as the cell completes two or three full cycles. Charge on a hard flat surface rather than a soft material like a bed or sofa to allow heat to dissipate. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect the charger and check that the connector and port are fully seated and free of debris.
