Fits Coolpad 8070D smartphone; replaces OEM part number CPLD-109.
3.7V, 1400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers standard talk and standby time for daily use.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with standard smartphone contact alignment.
We bench-tested this cell on a Coolpad 8070D motherboard; BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault codes.
On first use, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before enabling fast charging—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Coolpad 8070D — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-109)

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Coolpad 8070D smartphone. It replaces part number CPLD-109 — the original internal battery that powers calling, messaging, and app functions. When the original cell degrades and can no longer hold adequate charge, this replacement restores full device operation.

  • Coolpad 8070D fit: The 8070D uses a fixed connector pinout and cavity measuring 55.81 × 50.83 × 5.25 mm. This cell matches that footprint and wiring directly. The BMS protection circuit communicates correctly with the phone's charge IC without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 8070D platform. The BMS held charge termination correctly and did not trip on normal screen or modem loads. Voltage under load stayed within the expected range for a 3.7V nominal cell.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins. Skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings in the first few days of use.

Why the 8070D reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The 8070D uses a fuel gauge IC that stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still reading against the old curve. The percentage displayed reflects the old cell's behaviour, not the new cell's actual state of charge. One full discharge to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and syncs the gauge to the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under the combined load of the modem radio and display — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not predict. The phone shuts down not because the percentage is low, but because instantaneous voltage fell below the protection threshold. Check the resting voltage after shutdown — if it recovers above 3.6V within a few minutes, the cell is intact and the gauge is uncalibrated. Run one full cycle from shutdown to 100% charge to correct it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Coolpad 8070D won't turn on at all after sitting unused for months — is the new battery dead on arrival?

Almost certainly not. A cell left in deep discharge drops below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above 3.0V before the BMS will release and allow startup.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the replacement battery — what's wrong?

The USB-PD or proprietary fast charge handshake on the 8070D's charge IC requires the BMS to confirm cell readiness before it allows high-current delivery. On a fresh cell, the IC defaults to standard charge rate until it completes one full cycle. Complete one full discharge and uninterrupted charge at standard rate, then reconnect your fast charger — the handshake should succeed on the next session.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging — is that normal with a new cell?

A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a used one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat in the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces as the cell is conditioned. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, or charging stops before 100%, remove the charger and let the phone cool to room temperature before resuming — the thermal protection circuit may be throttling charge current.
