Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Corsair K63 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ICR18650)
This is a 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion ICR18650 cell for the Corsair K63 Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. It replaces the internal rechargeable cell when capacity has dropped and the keyboard no longer holds a useful charge between sessions. At 12.58Wh, it matches the original cell specification for the K63 platform.
- K63 Wireless platform fit: The K63 Wireless uses a single ICR18650 cell housed in an internal battery bay. The BMS on the K63 communicates with this standard 18650 format directly — no proprietary connector or authentication handshake is required, so the swap is straightforward once the back panel is removed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the K63 platform and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without flagging a fault. Charging terminated correctly at 4.2V and the protection circuit triggered at the expected low-voltage cutoff.
- RGB lighting draw on the K63: Per-key RGB backlighting runs continuously during active use and draws significantly more current than non-lit wireless keyboards. Reducing brightness or switching to a static lighting profile reduces current draw and extends time between charges noticeably.
Keyboard pairing lost after battery swap on the K63 Wireless
When the K63 Wireless loses power completely — including during a cell swap — the keyboard can drop its pairing with the USB receiver. The receiver stores the pairing on its end, but the keyboard side resets to an unpaired state after a full power interruption. To re-pair, plug the USB receiver into the same port it was previously on, then hold the pairing button on the underside of the K63 for three seconds until the backlight flashes. The keyboard should reconnect within ten seconds.
K63 Wireless battery draining faster than expected after a few months
Li-ion cells in wireless gaming keyboards degrade faster when they are regularly discharged below 3.0V before recharging — a pattern common with keyboards left idle until the low-battery warning appears. Each deep discharge cycle accelerates capacity fade in ICR-chemistry cells. The K63 does not display a battery percentage by default, so the first visible sign is often a noticeably shorter charge interval rather than a sudden failure. Recharge when the low-battery indicator first activates rather than waiting for the keyboard to shut off — this keeps the cell cycling above 3.2V and slows capacity loss.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Corsair K63 Wireless isn't reconnecting after I replaced the battery — the USB receiver is plugged in but nothing happens.
A full power loss during the swap clears the pairing state on the keyboard side. Unplug the USB receiver, wait five seconds, then plug it back into the same USB port. Hold the pairing button on the underside of the K63 for three seconds until the backlight flashes, then wait up to ten seconds for the connection to establish.
The K63 Wireless pointer is stuttering and inputs are lagging even though I just charged it — what's causing that?
This symptom appears when the cell voltage sags under load despite showing a recent charge — typically when the old cell has lost enough capacity that its voltage drops below 3.4V during active polling. The K63's wireless module reduces its polling rate to compensate, which shows up as stutter and lag. Fit the replacement ICR18650 cell and charge it fully to 4.2V before first use to confirm whether cell voltage was the cause.
One side of my K63 setup drains its battery much faster than the other — is the new cell faulty?
Uneven drain between the keyboard and any paired wireless mouse usually comes from mismatched cell ages rather than a fault in either cell. An older cell with reduced capacity sitting alongside a new one will deplete disproportionately because both devices draw independently. Replace both cells at the same time with matched ICR18650 cells and monitor drain over two full charge cycles — if one still depletes significantly faster, check that the RGB profile on that device isn't set to a higher brightness than the other.
