Fits Microsoft Band Halo 5, Halo 6, and Halo 8 wearables; replaces OEM battery.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1200mAh delivers 4.44Wh to restore full-day activity tracking capacity.
Connector seats flush into the Halo Band compartment with a single locking tab orientation.
We bench-tested this cell in a Halo 6 unit; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first charge after installation, let the device complete one full discharge cycle before extended wear — the fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CPA Halo 5 / Halo 6 / Halo 8 — 3.7V Li-ion 1200mAh Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the CPA Halo 5, Halo 6, and Halo 8 smartphones. It matches OEM voltage and physical dimensions (53.00 × 34.00 × 5.70mm), so the connector and fit are direct. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), taken from product specifications — not extrapolated.

  • Halo 5, 6, and 8 platform compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay geometry and voltage rail. The BMS handshake expects a 3.7V nominal cell with the same connector pinout — swapping between any of these models uses the identical replacement unit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Halo platform. The BMS accepted the cell without protection trips, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V under standard CC/CV protocol.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes higher current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CPA Halo after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone's reported percentage no longer matches actual cell voltage, so the OS thinks there is charge remaining when the cell voltage has already dropped below the load threshold. Under screen-on or network load, the new cell hits its voltage floor before the OS reaches 0%. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter reset against real cell data and eliminates the false shutoff.

CPA Halo showing incorrect battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC learns cell behaviour over time and stores that data for the original cell. A new cell resets that baseline, so percentage readings jump or plateau at odd values — 60% sitting for two hours, then dropping fast. The fix is to run the battery completely flat until the phone shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. After that cycle, the gauge IC recalibrates its internal model to the new cell's actual charge curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CPA Halo 8 won't turn on at all after the battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?

Almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. When a Li-ion cell drops below roughly 2.5V from extended storage, the battery management system blocks output as a protection measure. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the cell has not dropped below recovery threshold, the charger will trickle-feed it back above the BMS unlock voltage and the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working on my Halo 6 after I fitted the new battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

This is normal on the first cycle after a cell swap. The charge IC runs a handshake with the BMS on a new cell and often defaults to standard 5V charging until it verifies the cell is stable. Let the phone complete one full charge at the slow rate without interrupting it. On the next charge session, plug in the original fast charger — the IC will re-attempt the fast-charge negotiation with a cell it now recognises as stable and accepted.

The battery percentage on my CPA Halo 5 jumps around erratically — it went from 45% to 71% while I was just reading.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a faulty cell. The IC is still using voltage-to-percentage tables built around the worn original cell, and the new cell's discharge curve does not match those tables. Drain the phone completely until it shuts off on its own, then charge it to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that single full cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference points to the new cell and the percentage readout stabilises.
