Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Crestron TPMC-4XG Touchpanel — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TPMC-4XG-BTP)
This 3.7V 1700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM cell in the Crestron TPMC-4XG tabletop touchscreen control panel. It fits the TPMC-4XG, TPMC-4XG-B, TPMC-4XG Touchpanel, and A0356 variants. Swap it in when the original no longer holds charge or the panel loses wireless control capability between sessions.
- TPMC-4XG platform fit: All listed variants — TPMC-4XG, TPMC-4XG-B, and A0356 — share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V charging circuit. One cell SKU covers the whole family without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the TPMC-4XG platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, reached full charge voltage at 4.2V, and the panel resumed wireless communication without requiring a re-pair sequence.
- Single-cell replacement rule: The TPMC-4XG runs on one internal Li-ion cell. Do not leave the old partially degraded cell installed alongside a new one — remove the original completely before fitting this replacement. A mismatched cell left in circuit will skew charge balance and shorten the new cell's cycle life.
Why the TPMC-4XG drops wireless connection before the battery indicator warns you
The TPMC-4XG's battery gauge reads state-of-charge from a voltage curve, not a coulomb counter. As Li-ion cells age, internal resistance rises and the resting voltage stays artificially high — so the panel reports 30–40% remaining while actual usable capacity has dropped sharply. Under the transmit load of a wireless burst, voltage sags below the radio module's minimum rail and the connection drops. The panel may recover seconds later as voltage rebounds, which makes the fault look intermittent. If your panel drops connection mid-use but shows battery remaining, the cell's internal resistance has risen enough to fail under load — replace it.
Touchpanel powers on but wireless control stops responding after a few button presses
This symptom — a live display but dead control output — points to a cell that can sustain idle draw but not the current spike of repeated wireless transmissions. Each button press triggers a radio burst that pulls more current than the screen does at rest. A degraded cell collapses in voltage under that burst, the radio drops out, and the panel appears frozen to the user. Check resting voltage on the cell before condemning the panel: a healthy Li-ion cell sits at 3.7V or above at rest. Below 3.5V at rest, replace the cell before assuming a panel fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TPMC-4XG touchpanel shows no response at all right after I installed the new battery — what did I miss?
The most common cause is connector orientation. The TPMC-4XG battery connector is small and the polarity markings on the cell and bay can be easy to misread under poor lighting. Disconnect the cell, check that the positive tab on the battery aligns with the positive terminal in the bay, and reseat it firmly until the connector clicks. If the panel still shows nothing, hold the power button for 10 seconds to clear any residual charge on the board before trying again.
The TPMC-4XG works, but I have to hold it much closer to the receiver than I used to — does a new battery fix that?
Yes. IR output strength drops as battery voltage falls below the LED driver's minimum threshold — the LED fires, but not at full power, so the beam range shrinks. This is a different failure from a dead panel: the control works at close range because the receiver can still decode a weak signal, but it cuts out at normal distances. Fit the new 3.7V cell and test from your normal operating distance — full-strength IR transmission should restore immediately.
The replacement battery drains noticeably faster than expected — what causes that on the TPMC-4XG?
Two things drive faster-than-expected drain on this panel. First, a button that is physically stuck or intermittently bridged keeps the transmit circuit active and pulls continuous current. Remove the battery, inspect each button for sticky or sunken travel, and clean around the keys if needed. Second, leaving the panel face-down on a surface can trigger capacitive inputs that keep the backlight and radio active. Store the panel face-up and check for stuck buttons first — both are resolved before replacing the cell again.
