Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LeTV RC60Tp6 / S40 / S50 / SRC Series — 3.7V Li-ion 1200mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LeTV RC60Tp6 remote and compatible models including the S40, S50, and SRC series. It restores full IR output to LeTV television remotes that have lost range or stopped responding entirely. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — measure your existing cell before ordering.

  • RC60Tp6 and S-series compatibility: These remotes share the same flat Li-ion cell format, voltage rail, and connector footprint. A single cell spec covers the RC60Tp6, S40, S50, and SRC without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on RC60Tp6 hardware and confirmed the BMS held a stable 3.7V nominal output without voltage sag during IR burst transmission.
  • Single-cell remote swap rule: This remote runs on one cell — not two. There is no old-cell compensation issue here, but do not pair this new cell with a partially depleted spare if your remote uses an extended grip with a secondary cell slot. Replace the full cell.

Why the RC60Tp6 stops working after a new battery is installed

The most common cause is polarity reversal. The RC60Tp6 battery compartment has a snug fit, and the positive and negative contacts are easy to misread under low light. Installing the cell backwards delivers no voltage to the IR circuit, so the remote appears completely dead. Check the embossed + and − markings on the battery against the contacts in the tray. Re-seat the cell in the correct orientation and the remote should respond immediately.

Remote range dropping before the battery is fully depleted

IR LEDs in the RC60Tp6 need a sustained voltage above roughly 3.5V to fire at full strength. As a Li-ion cell ages past 80% of its cycle life, resting voltage stays nominally acceptable but sags under the brief high-current burst the IR LED demands. The result is reduced range — the remote only works at close distance — before any low-battery indicator appears. If you are pointing the remote within 0.5m to get a response, the cell is below its usable IR output threshold and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

I installed the new battery in my RC60Tp6 and it still does nothing — what did I miss?

Polarity reversal is the most likely cause. The cell fits snugly either way in the tray, so it is easy to seat it backwards. Pull the battery out, find the + marking embossed on the cell, and match it to the positive contact in the compartment. Re-seat it correctly and test — a properly installed 3.7V cell should restore response immediately.

My LeTV remote works but I have to point it directly at the TV from less than a metre away — is the battery already failing?

Yes. The IR LED in the RC60Tp6 needs a clean voltage burst to fire at full range. A Li-ion cell in late cycle life holds an acceptable resting voltage but sags under the short high-current demand of an IR pulse. That sag cuts transmission distance well before a low-battery warning appears. Replace the cell now — if range does not recover after a full charge cycle, check the IR window on the remote for dust or residue blocking the emitter.

The buttons on my RC60Tp6 respond, but only when I press them harder than usual — is that the battery?

Inconsistent button response at this stage usually points to a cell that can no longer sustain voltage above 3.5V under repeated IR burst loads. Each keypress draws a short current spike from the cell — if the cell sags below the IR trigger threshold during that spike, the signal either fires weakly or not at all. Firm presses sometimes create a better physical contact at the battery terminal, which masks the real issue. Swap in a fresh 3.7V cell and test with a normal light press to confirm.
