Fits Cricket Ovation U705AC; replaces original 3750mAh battery.
3.85V, 3750mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full charge capacity to restore normal uptime on the Ovation.
Connector seats into the battery slot at the base of the device with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We ran the pack through three full discharge-charge cycles; the fuel gauge IC settled into normal tracking by cycle two without errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before USB-PD protocols resume.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Ovation U705AC — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 3.85V Li-Polymer battery rated at 3750mAh (14.44Wh) for the Cricket Ovation (U705AC). It fits directly into the Ovation's battery bay and connects to the same flex connector and BMS contact points as the original cell. Use this when the stock battery no longer holds charge, swells, or drops voltage suddenly under load.

  • Ovation U705AC fit: The U705AC uses a single Li-Polymer cell with a 3.85V nominal rail. The BMS on this phone negotiates directly with the cell's protection circuit — physical dimensions (86.45 × 63.80 × 4.00mm) and connector pinout must match exactly, which this cell does.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the U705AC platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, protection cutoff triggered correctly at low voltage, and charge termination behaved normally across two full cycles.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell — preventing false percentage readings early on.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cricket Ovation after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve. A new cell holds a slightly different voltage profile at each state of charge, so the IC reads 20–30% remaining but the actual cell voltage drops below the modem and display load threshold. The phone shuts off to protect the BMS even though the percentage looks safe. One full discharge-to-cutoff and full recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

USB fast charge not activating after replacement on the U705AC

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may default to standard 5V/1A input while it evaluates the new cell's impedance. This is normal — the charge IC runs a brief conditioning pass before enabling higher-current protocols. Plug in with the original charger and let the first charge complete fully without interruption. Fast charging typically resumes from the second cycle onward once the IC has profiled the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cricket Ovation shuts off at around 25% after putting in the new battery — is the battery faulty?

It's not faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell's voltage drops below what the modem and screen need at a different state of charge than the old one, triggering a protective shutdown before the percentage hits zero. Run one full discharge down to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The Ovation screen shows the battery percentage jumping around erratically after the swap — what's causing that?

The fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the previous cell to estimate charge state. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage being read, so the percentage bounces as the IC tries to reconcile the mismatch. This is not a wiring or contact problem. Let the phone complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles without interruption — by the end of the second cycle, the IC has enough data to track the new cell accurately.

The Ovation feels warm near the battery while charging after the replacement — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first one or two charges is normal. A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the initial cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC throttles back and charging slows dramatically, remove the phone from the charger and let it cool before continuing. Warmth should reduce noticeably by the third charge cycle as cell impedance settles.
