Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu C9 / M818H Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA818)
The BA818 is a 3.85V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the MeiZu C9, M818H, C9 Pro, and M819H. It matches the original voltage rail and connector pinout used across this handset line. Capacity figure is 11.55Wh as listed in the product specification.
- C9 / M818H platform fit: The C9, M818H, C9 Pro, and M819H all share the same battery bay geometry, connector orientation, and 3.85V nominal rail. One BA818 cell services the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BA818 through charge and discharge cycles on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake cleanly, held the 4.35V upper cutoff, and tripped the low-voltage cutoff at the expected floor without false readings mid-cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BA818 replacement cell
A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was originally calibrated to. When the phone's reported percentage still reads 20–30%, the actual cell voltage can drop below the modem's or display's sustain threshold under load. The phone cuts out to protect itself, even though the gauge says charge remains. One complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate retrains the coulomb counter and aligns the percentage readout with the real voltage curve.
Device won't power on after the BA818 sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–5% per month. If the battery sat discharged for an extended period, the BMS may have tripped its deep-discharge lockout below 2.5V per cell and will refuse to pass current to the phone. Connect the phone to a low-current charger — a standard 5V/1A USB adapter works better here than a fast charger — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the BMS recovers, the charge IC will take over and the boot screen should appear. If the cell remains at or below 2.4V after that window, the cell is outside recovery range and needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MeiZu C9 shows a full charge but the percentage jumps around erratically after fitting the BA818 — what's causing it?
The fuel gauge IC on the C9 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A fresh BA818 has a different internal resistance profile, so the counter loses tracking and the percentage readout jumps. Run one full discharge to auto-shutoff followed by a full charge at standard current — no fast charging during this cycle. After that single cycle, the gauge recalibrates and the percentage readout stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working on my C9 after I installed the replacement BA818 — the phone only trickle-charges now.
The C9's charge IC runs a handshake with the BMS on the new cell before allowing high-current charging. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the IC often defaults to standard current until it confirms the BMS is responding correctly. Plug in using the original cable and charger, let the phone charge fully without interrupting it, then unplug and discharge normally. Fast charging typically resumes on the second or third cycle once the BMS handshake has completed successfully.
The MeiZu C9 feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges with the new BA818 — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into a cell that hasn't yet settled to its steady-state resistance, and that converts more energy to heat than usual. The warmth should reduce after three to five full cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the back of the phone stays hot to the touch beyond that point, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and generates additional heat at the joint.
