Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Memor NFP / Memor X3 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP08-00011A)
This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part BP08-00011A in the Datalogic Memor NFP and Memor X3 handheld mobile computers. Both devices are compact barcode scanners used in retail, warehouse, and logistics environments. Same voltage, same form factor, same connector — drop it in and charge before first shift.
- Memor NFP and Memor X3 shared pack: Both models run the same 3.7V battery rail with an identical connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them is straightforward — no firmware flag differences affect charging behaviour on this cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a Memor NFP unit. The BMS engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted charge via both direct USB and cradle dock without fault codes.
- First-shift prep for pick-and-pack environments: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first use. Scan trigger inrush current spikes sharply when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips during high-frequency scanning on day one.
Cradle showing a charging error after installing a new pack
The Memor cradle communicates with the battery BMS through spring-loaded dock contacts. If those contacts have oxidation, dust, or grease from warehouse handling, resistance spikes and the dock reports a charge fault even though the pack is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and inside the dock slot with a dry cloth or isopropyl swab. Reseat the scanner firmly — the dock needs full contact pressure to read the pack correctly. If the error clears, the pack was never the problem.
Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The Memor NFP and X3 pull current from a single cell for both the imager and the wireless radio simultaneously. During a rapid scan burst, combined inrush from the scan trigger and the 802.11 or Bluetooth radio can cause momentary voltage sag that the BMS reads as a fault, dropping the connection. This is most common on a cell that is below 50% charge or has been sitting unused for several weeks. Charge the pack to full before a high-volume shift — above 3.9V under load, the sag stays within the radio module's operating window.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Memor NFP stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or LED array, and a new pack straight out of packaging may sit at 3.5V or lower after storage. At that level, the scan trigger pulls more current than the cell can cleanly deliver, so the imager fires weakly or not at all. Put the scanner in its cradle and charge to full before triggering any scans. Once the cell reads 4.1–4.2V on a full charge, the imager will power correctly on the first pull.
The scanner feels warm after a long warehouse shift — is that a problem with the cell?
Heat buildup in the Memor NFP and X3 is normal during extended shifts because the imager, wireless radio, and processor all share a single small cell inside a sealed housing with limited airflow. Sustained draw across all three loads generates heat that has nowhere to go quickly. If the unit is too hot to hold comfortably, let it rest in the open cradle for 10–15 minutes between shifts — the cradle's charge circuit throttles back once the pack is full, which reduces heat output. If it runs hot from the first hour, check that the cradle contacts are clean and the pack is seating fully.
The replacement pack doesn't last as long as the original did when the scanner was new — why?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both pull from the same 1100mAh cell, and newer firmware versions on the Memor X3 in particular increase polling rates that weren't active on older firmware builds. The cell capacity is identical to OEM spec, so the difference is almost always usage pattern or a background process that wasn't running before. Check the device management software for any newly pushed configuration — reducing the wireless polling interval from 20ms to 50ms cuts idle radio draw noticeably and extends each charge cycle.
