Zebra HS3100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTRY-HS310-HS1-01)

This 3.7V, 260mAh Li-ion battery fits the Zebra HS3100 handheld barcode scanner. It replaces OEM part numbers BTRY-HS310-HS1-01 and BT000296A01. The HS3100 is a compact wearable scanner used in warehouse, retail, and inventory environments where continuous scanning across a full shift is standard.

• HS3100 platform fit: The HS3100 runs a fixed 3.7V battery rail with a proprietary BMS handshake through the contact array. This pack matches that voltage rail and the cell geometry the dock and device both expect — 42.50 × 45.52 × 19.00mm.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated scan-burst loads, monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds and contact voltage under combined laser trigger and wireless radio draw. The protection circuit tripped at the correct low-cell threshold with no false positives under rapid-fire scan sequences.
• First-install protocol for the HS3100: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before use. The scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and starting the first shift on a fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first heavy scan burst.

The HS3100 cradle reads the battery through a four-point contact array on the base of the scanner. Oxidation or residue on those contacts raises resistance enough for the dock to flag a charging fault even when the pack itself is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts were the cause — not the pack.

Scanner loses wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

On the HS3100, the scan trigger and the wireless radio both draw current simultaneously during a fast scan sequence. If the cell voltage sags below roughly 3.4V under that combined load, the radio stack drops its connection before the BMS fully trips. This happens most often late in a shift when the cell is partially depleted. Returning the scanner to the cradle for even a short top-up charge stabilises the voltage rail and restores the wireless link without a full reboot.
