Fits Datalogic Mobile Scorpio scanner; replaces OEM part numbers BS-215, BS-229, 127021590, 127021591, 94ACC0054.
3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell delivers 8.14Wh for sustained scan and wireless polling cycles throughout shift work.
Connector seats into scanner battery slot with positive contact on left; locking tab retracts and locks flush against housing.
Bench testing showed clean BMS handshake on first dock insertion; cell discharged evenly across 3.7V to 3.0V threshold with no early cutoff.
Before first shift use, place scanner in cradle for full charge cycle—scan trigger inrush current runs highest when cell is near minimum.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Mobile Scorpio — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BS-215)

This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic Mobile Scorpio handheld barcode scanner. It fits retail, logistics, and warehouse environments where the Scorpio handles continuous scanning and data collection across shifts. Matches OEM part numbers BS-215, BS-229, 127021590, 127021591, and 94ACC0054.

  • Mobile Scorpio compatibility: These OEM part numbers cross-reference to the same physical cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake used across the Mobile Scorpio production run — no firmware mismatch, no contact reconfiguration required.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Mobile Scorpio platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the device, held the charge curve within spec, and did not trigger low-voltage cutoff during simulated scan-burst loads.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before deploying on a shift. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge — starting a shift from a full cell prevents false BMS trips during the first rapid-scan burst of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging docks on the Mobile Scorpio rely on low-resistance contact between the battery terminals and the cradle pins. A new pack with oxidised or slightly misaligned contacts can cause the dock to report a fault even when the battery itself is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery with a dry lint-free cloth and reseat the unit firmly until the cradle clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, contact resistance was the cause — not the cell.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Mobile Scorpio draws simultaneously from the radio module and the scan trigger during high-frequency scanning. If the cell voltage sags below the radio's operating threshold during that combined inrush, the wireless link drops before the scanner logs a low-battery warning. This is most common when the battery is below 20% charge. Keep the pack above 3.5V during active wireless sessions to avoid mid-burst disconnections.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mobile Scorpio stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — what's happening?

The laser or imager module needs a minimum supply voltage to fire correctly, and a new pack straight out of the packaging may not carry enough charge to meet that threshold under load. Put the scanner in the cradle and let it charge fully before triggering a scan. Once the cell reaches 4.1–4.2V, the imager fires at full power and reads cleanly.

The scanner feels warm after a few hours of continuous use — is that a fault?

The Mobile Scorpio housing is compact, and sustained combined draw from the wireless radio and scan trigger generates heat that has limited surface area to dissipate. This is normal operating behaviour, not a cell fault. If the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, check whether the wireless polling interval is set aggressively short in the device config — reducing polling frequency lowers the sustained current draw and cuts heat output noticeably.

This battery isn't lasting as long through a shift as our old pack — what reduces endurance on the Scorpio?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling rate are the two biggest draws on this platform — both compound across a long shift. A high-density pick-and-pack environment with constant scanning and active Wi-Fi will draw significantly more than light stock-check use. Check the scan trigger duty cycle and wireless keepalive settings in the Scorpio's system config, and confirm the new pack completed a full first charge in the cradle before deployment, since a partial first charge reduces usable capacity on early cycles.
