Fits Honeywell Xenon barcode scanner models; replaces OEM part number 50121527-004.
3.7V and 3400mAh capacity delivers full shift power for retail scanning, inventory counts, and logistics operations.
Connector seats flush into the scanner battery bay with a straightforward quarter-turn locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this cell in a Xenon 1902 scanner; BMS accepted the pack on first dock contact with no fault codes.
After installation, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before pick-and-pack shifts — scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell approaches minimum voltage and a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS cutoffs on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xenon 50121527-004 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion cell replaces the Xenon 50121527-004 pack used in Honeywell handheld barcode scanners. It targets retail, warehousing, and logistics scanners where battery wear shows up fast under continuous pick-and-pack cycles. Swap it into any scanner that accepts the 50121527-004 to restore full scan capability.

  • 50121527-004 platform fit: Honeywell scanners on this battery share a common 3.7V rail, connector format, and BMS handshake. The pack's protection circuit must respond correctly to the scan trigger inrush — a mismatched BMS causes the scanner to cut power to the imager mid-scan.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger bursts combined with wireless polling loads. The BMS held stable across inrush spikes and did not trip false low-voltage cutoffs during sustained burst sequences.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before committing it to a live shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge — starting the first shift on a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the opening burst.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Honeywell cradles check contact resistance before initiating the charge handshake. If the dock or pack contacts carry oxidation or debris, the cradle reads an open circuit and throws a charging fault rather than starting the cycle. This happens most on packs that have been in storage. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and cradle with a dry cloth, reseat firmly, and confirm the charge indicator changes state within 30 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a rapid scan burst, the imager and the wireless radio draw current simultaneously. If cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio module drops off first — the scanner appears to read but the data never transmits. This is a combined inrush problem, not a signal issue. A fully charged 3400mAh pack maintains enough voltage headroom to supply both loads together; check that the pack is above 3.6V before a high-volume scan session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My scanner reads barcodes fine on the old battery but misses half the scans after swapping in the new pack — what's wrong?

The imager needs sufficient voltage to fire at full power; if the new pack went straight from the box into a heavy scan session, the cell may not have reached full charge and the laser or illumination drops below the threshold needed for a clean read. Seat the scanner in the cradle and run a complete charge cycle first. Once the pack hits 4.2V at the cell, scan performance returns to normal.

The scanner runs noticeably warm after a few hours on shift — is that the battery?

Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the scanner's enclosed housing, and a cell that is cycling hard adds to that thermal load. The 50121527-004 format packs are sized for that combined draw, but heat accelerates if the battery is partially discharged and working harder to maintain voltage. Check that the scanner gets a full cradle charge between shifts and that the vents on the housing are not blocked by a tight holster or case.

Our shift endurance dropped after moving to a new pack — the scanner dies earlier than the old one did, even on a fresh charge.

Short shift endurance on a new pack is usually caused by one of two things: scan burst frequency has increased since the original battery was new, or the wireless polling interval has been shortened by a settings change, both of which raise average current draw. Pull the scanner's diagnostic screen to check wireless signal strength — a weak signal forces the radio to retransmit, which compounds the draw. If signal strength is good, verify the charger is completing a full cycle and the pack voltage reads 4.1V or higher when removed from the cradle.
