Fits Dell Inspiron 7737 and Inspiron 15-7537 notebooks; replaces OEM part numbers G4YJM, F7HVR, Y1FGD, 062VNH, T2T3J, 0G4YJM, and JR9TD.
This 14.8V 3900mAh cell delivers 57.72Wh — matches the original output needed for full CPU and display load on this chassis without thermal throttle.
Connector aligns with Dell's proprietary slot; locking tab seats flush with the battery compartment frame for secure retention during lid closure.
We bench-tested this cell through five charge cycles on a Inspiron 7737 dock; BMS accepted the new EEPROM handshake on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, discharge fully to system shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Inspiron 7737 / 15-7537 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (G4YJM)

This is a 14.8V Li-ion battery rated at 3900mAh (57.72Wh), replacing OEM part G4YJM and its cross-references including F7HVR, Y1FGD, and T2T3J. It fits the Dell Inspiron 7737, Inspiron 15-7537 (P36F), and Inspiron 15 7537 / 17 7737 series notebooks. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the laptop refuses to run unplugged.

  • Inspiron 7537 / 7737 platform fit: Both the 15-inch and 17-inch Inspiron 7000 series from this generation share the same 14.8V four-cell bus, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS communication protocol — that's why a single battery SKU covers both screen sizes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a P36F board and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly — the system accepted charge state data, the gauge IC updated, and the BIOS battery status moved out of the unknown state within one full cycle.
  • Post-install calibration on Dell Inspiron: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on a real workload, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the Inspiron 7737 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap

The fuel gauge IC on this platform builds its discharge curve against the original cell's internal resistance profile. Drop in a new cell and the curve no longer matches — the IC calls empty while the battery still has usable capacity. The laptop hits its low-voltage protection threshold and shuts down mid-session. Running two or three full discharge-to-hibernate, charge-to-100% cycles forces the IC to rebuild the curve against the new cell's actual characteristics.

BIOS showing battery health as "poor" immediately after fitting a new cell

The Dell BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, not from a live capacity test. When a replacement cell arrives, its EEPROM cycle count and wear data don't match the board's stored baseline, so the BIOS flags it as degraded before the cell has run a single cycle. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the battery. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS learn cycle will overwrite the stale EEPROM values and report correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dell Inspiron 7737 fuel gauge is jumping around wildly — showing 60%, then 40%, then 75% within minutes. Is the new battery faulty?

The fuel gauge IC needs several full cycles to map its discharge algorithm against the new cell's chemistry — until it does, the readings are unreliable. This is normal behaviour after any cell swap on this platform and not a sign of a defective battery. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging uninterrupted to 100% each time. After the third cycle the gauge IC will have enough data to report accurately.

The Inspiron 7537 BIOS shows the battery Wh rating as lower than what's listed on the label — why don't the numbers match?

The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from the EEPROM embedded in the battery's BMS chip, which stores the manufacturer's rated value at time of programming. The actual delivered energy depends on cell temperature, load, and age — those figures rarely match exactly. A difference of 2–5Wh between the label and the BIOS readout is within normal tolerance. If the discrepancy is larger, run the battery learn cycle: discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%.

New battery installed but the Inspiron 7737 still won't charge past 80% — is something wrong with the cell?

Dell's BIOS includes a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps charging at 80% when "Battery Health Mode" or a similar conservation setting is active. This is a BIOS setting, not a battery fault. Go to Dell Power Manager or the BIOS power settings, find the battery charge threshold or health mode option, and set the maximum charge limit back to 100%.
