Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod HD mini / T5555 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BB92100)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Dopod HD mini, T5555, A6380, and G9. It replaces OEM part numbers BB92100, 35H00137-00M, and BA S430. If your original cell no longer holds adequate charge through a normal day of use, this is the direct swap.
- HD mini / T5555 / A6380 / G9 compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why one cell covers all of them. The 45.66 × 41.78 × 6.20mm footprint matches the factory cavity without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on compatible hardware. The BMS accepted charge correctly, voltage regulation held stable across the discharge curve, and no unexpected cutoff events occurred under normal screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the device normally. The Windows Mobile fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — skipping this cycle causes the percentage counter to read inaccurately from the start.
Why the HD mini reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
Windows Mobile devices store the battery's discharge curve in the fuel gauge IC, and that data is tied to the old cell's characteristics. When a new cell goes in, the IC keeps using the old curve, so its percentage estimates drift immediately. The counter may show 80% when the real state of charge is closer to 50%, or drop suddenly when the curve deviates. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual behaviour.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Under combined screen and modem load, the cell's terminal voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge predicts, hitting the BMS low-voltage cutoff while the display still shows charge remaining. It is most common before the fuel gauge IC completes its first full recalibration cycle. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown and charge cycle — after that, the cutoff point and the percentage display align more closely. If shutdowns continue past the second cycle, check that the cell is seated fully and the connector contacts are clean.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dopod HD mini won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead too?
A cell stored at low charge for months can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout — the battery refuses to output current to protect the cell from permanent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything; the charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold. If the charging LED or screen activates at any point during that window, the cell is recovering normally. If nothing happens after 45 minutes, check that the battery connector is fully seated in the bay.
The battery percentage on my HD mini jumps around erratically — 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC inside the phone is running on a discharge curve mapped to your old cell, and the new cell's voltage behaviour at each state of charge is different enough to confuse it. Each percentage reading is an estimate based on voltage lookup, not a direct measurement, so mismatches between the stored curve and the actual cell cause the counter to jump. Run one complete discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the readings stabilise.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is that normal with a new cell?
A new Li-ion cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the first few charge cycles as current pushes into higher resistance. This is normal and reduces after two or three full cycles as the cell's impedance drops. Warm is expected; hot — too uncomfortable to hold against the back of your hand for three seconds — is not. If the device reaches that level, disconnect the charger immediately and let the cell cool before attempting another charge.
