Fits E-TEN P603 and P610 smartphones; replaces OEM battery 4900156.
3.7V, 2200mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on mid-2000s Windows Mobile devices.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left edge.
We bench-tested this cell on a P603 simulator; BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held stable voltage under simulated idle and active loads.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

E-TEN P603 / P610 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4900156)

This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces OEM part 4900156 in the E-TEN P603 and P610 Windows Mobile smartphones. It restores power to devices where the original cell has degraded, lost capacity, or stopped holding a charge. Voltage and connector match the original spec.

  • P603 and P610 shared platform: Both devices run on the same battery rail, use the same connector, and share the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on P603 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle to 4.2V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, run one full discharge-to-charge cycle without interruption. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before it can report accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the P603 after cell replacement

The P603's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. When a new higher-capacity cell is installed, the IC's voltage map no longer aligns with the new cell's actual cutoff behaviour. At 20–30% indicated charge, the new cell's voltage can drop sharply under modem or screen load — faster than the IC expects — triggering an emergency shutdown. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and writes a fresh curve. After that cycle, the percentage readout and shutdown behaviour stabilise.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge

A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a cycled one. The charge IC pushes constant current into that higher impedance, generating more heat than usual in the first few charges. This is normal and reduces after two or three full cycles as impedance drops. If the device becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop the charge, let it cool, and resume — do not leave it unattended until after the first three cycles confirm temperature stays within a normal range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My E-TEN P603 shuts off at around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The P603's fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it mapped from the old degraded cell, so its voltage threshold no longer matches the new cell's actual behaviour under modem or display load. One complete uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell. After that cycle, the shutdown at 25% should stop.

The battery percentage on my P603 jumps around erratically after I fitted the replacement — what's causing it?

The fuel gauge IC lost its reference when the old cell was removed. It is now estimating charge state from an uncalibrated baseline, which causes the percentage to read inconsistently. Run the phone down to auto-shutdown, then charge it to 100% in a single uninterrupted session without using the device. That full cycle writes a new reference curve to the IC and the readout will stabilise.

My P603 won't power on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during extended storage — this is a protection cutoff, not permanent damage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone will power on normally.
