Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Easyfone Prime A1 / A2 / A5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Easyfone Prime A1, Prime A2, and Prime A5 mobile phones. The cell measures 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.30mm and slots directly into the same bay as the factory unit. If your phone shuts off unexpectedly or no longer holds a charge, this is the part that restores normal operation.
- Prime A1, A2, and A5 compatibility: All three models share the same battery footprint, voltage rail, and connector orientation. The BMS handshake on each device is identical, so one cell covers the full trio without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Prime A1 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal cutoff or early termination.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve correctly — skipping this step is the main cause of erratic percentage readings after a cell swap.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Easyfone Prime A1
The Prime A1 draws a sharp current spike when the modem transmits or the screen backlights at full brightness. A degraded cell — or a freshly installed one the fuel gauge hasn't calibrated yet — cannot sustain voltage under that load. The BMS reads the voltage drop as a low-battery condition and cuts the circuit. This is not a fault with the replacement cell; it is the fuel gauge IC operating on stale calibration data from the old battery. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most sudden-shutdown events.
Phone won't power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge over time. If this battery was stored for several months before installation, or if the phone was left unused with the battery inside, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS lockout threshold of approximately 2.5V. At that point the BMS opens the protection circuit and the phone shows no sign of life. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS re-engages, after which the phone will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Easyfone Prime A1 show a full battery after I fit the new cell, then suddenly drop to 20% within minutes?
The fuel gauge IC on the Prime A1 is still reading the discharge curve it learned from the old cell. The percentage shown is an estimate based on that stale data, not a direct voltage reading, so the numbers jump once the cell hits a voltage the old curve didn't predict. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.
My Prime A1 gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A freshly installed cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled a few times. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and some of that energy converts to heat during the first few charge cycles. We observed this same behaviour on the bench — warmth during charging on cycles one and two, settling to normal temperature by cycle three. If the phone stays warm after four or five full cycles, check that the back cover is fully seated and not trapping heat against the battery.
The Prime A1 powers on after fitting the replacement battery but won't accept a charge — the charging indicator never appears.
On the first connection after a cell swap, some charge ICs run a short handshake with the new BMS before enabling current flow. If the cell voltage came in below roughly 3.0V, the IC may be sitting in a pre-charge wait state with no visible indicator. Leave the phone connected to a wall charger for 10 minutes, then remove and reinsert the charging cable. If the indicator still does not appear, check the charging port pins for debris — a blocked contact prevents the IC from detecting the charger at all.
