Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

EGO Cordless Chainsaw — 56V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 56V 6000mAh (336Wh) Li-ion battery fits the EGO CS1400, CS1403, CS1600, CS1604, and over 19 additional EGO POWER+ chainsaws. It slots into the same 56V ARC Lithium platform that powers EGO's brushless chainsaw motors. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec — no adapters, no modifications.

  • Cross-model compatibility — CS1400 to CS1604: These chainsaws share the same 56V power rail and battery connector, so one battery pack covers the full range without any wiring differences.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran full charge/discharge cycles — the BMS held voltage steady under chainsaw motor load and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without tripping a fault state.
  • First-use tip for Li-ion on high-draw tools: Run two or three full discharge-and-charge cycles before heavy cutting sessions — this lets the BMS calibrate capacity readings accurately for a high-current brushless motor draw.

Why 336Wh matters on a brushless chainsaw

A brushless motor at 6,800 RPM pulls hard current spikes, especially when biting through dense hardwood. Higher watt-hour capacity means the pack sustains voltage under those spikes rather than sagging. Voltage sag slows chain speed mid-cut and puts extra heat into both the motor and battery cells. A 336Wh pack at 56V gives the BMS more headroom to manage those demands.

Battery showing "charged" but chainsaw stalls under load — here's the cause

If the saw runs at idle but bogs or cuts out during a cut, the BMS is hitting its overcurrent protection threshold. This usually happens when the chain is dull or the bar oil is low, forcing the motor to draw excessive current. Sharpen the chain, check bar oil, then reset the battery by removing it for 30 seconds and reseating it firmly. A worn chain is the most common trigger on EGO chainsaws — not a faulty battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EGO chainsaw cuts fine for a few seconds then bogs down and loses power mid-cut — new battery, same problem

This is almost always voltage sag under load — the chainsaw is drawing peak current through a dense cut and the battery management system is throttling output to protect the cells. Check that the chain tension and lubrication are correct first, because a dragging chain multiplies the draw and triggers sag faster than a properly tuned setup. On the bench, we saw this most often when chain oil was low — the motor works harder, pulls more amps, and the BMS steps in. Oil the bar, reset tension, then try the same cut and watch whether the bogging point moves.

EGO battery clicks into the chainsaw but the tool won't turn on — no lights, nothing

The most overlooked cause here is the battery's key switch or the safety lockout on the saw itself — both have to be active simultaneously, and one stuck or misaligned interlock kills all power with zero feedback. Before assuming a dead battery, press the battery's charge-check button to confirm it holds a charge, then hold the chainsaw's front guard in the correct position while pressing the trigger. If the battery shows charge but the saw still won't respond, the problem is usually the interlock contacts on the battery port getting dirty or slightly bent from repeated removal — inspect and clean those contacts with a dry cloth. Reseat the battery firmly with the saw pointed down and try again.

Charged my EGO battery to full overnight and it was almost dead by morning — did I get a bad one

A 56V Li-ion pack at this capacity class should lose very little charge sitting overnight — if it's dropping significantly, the battery's self-discharge rate is abnormal and points to one of two things: a cell group with elevated internal resistance, or the BMS drawing parasitic current because it never fully exited active mode after charging. Let the battery cool completely, charge it again until the indicator shows full, then physically disconnect it from everything and check the level again after 24 hours. If it drops more than one indicator LED in that window with no load attached, the pack has a cell-level fault and the overnight drain will not improve with use.
