Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell P-X-C Plus / Power X-Change — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (45.114.36)
This is an 18V 4000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Einhell P-X-C Plus and Power X-Change cordless tool platform. It fits the TE-CD 18/40 drill, plus over 190 other Einhell 18V tools that share the same slide-in battery interface. Capacity is 4000mAh (72Wh) as rated.
- P-X-C Plus platform fit: All tools in the P-X-C Plus and Power X-Change 18V range share a common voltage rail, contact layout, and BMS communication protocol. That is why one battery spans drills, saws, sanders, and impact drivers — the handshake is standardised across the system.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a TE-CD 18/40 and a TE-CS 18/190 circular saw. The BMS responded correctly to motor-start inrush on both tools, held the voltage rail steady under sustained load, and the charger completed a full charge cycle without fault codes.
- Motor break-in on first use: Run your tool at half load for the first two cycles before full-torque applications. This gives the BMS time to profile the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before you push the tool hard.
BMS cutoff on circular saw and drill motor-start inrush surge
When you pull the trigger on a saw or drill, the motor draws a sharp current spike before it reaches running speed. On a new or cold pack, this inrush can briefly exceed the BMS overcurrent threshold, triggering an immediate cutoff. The BMS interprets the spike as a fault rather than a normal start condition. Releasing the trigger and pulling again — two or three times — usually lets the BMS recalibrate and allow normal operation.
Charger shows blinking red and won't accept a stored pack
Li-ion cells that have sat unused for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell. When that happens, the charger sees a pack outside its safe charge window and refuses to start a full cycle. Most Einhell chargers include a recovery or wake-up mode: connect the pack, leave it for 10–15 minutes, and the charger will attempt a trickle pre-charge to bring cells back above 3.0V per cell before switching to normal charge. If the light stays red past 20 minutes, check that the battery terminals are clean and making solid contact.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Einhell drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — why does it trip immediately under no load?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by motor-start inrush current, not a fault with the load itself. The spike at trigger pull can exceed the BMS threshold on a new or cold pack before the BMS has profiled the motor. Release the trigger fully, wait two seconds, and pull again — repeat two or three times. After a couple of start cycles the BMS adjusts its threshold and the cutout stops.
The tool runs fine for the first few minutes then suddenly bogs down and loses power under sustained heavy cutting — what's happening?
That is thermal cutoff. Under prolonged circular saw or reciprocating saw use, cell temperature rises alongside motor heat inside an enclosed housing. Once the pack's thermal sensor hits its cutoff point — typically around 60°C internal — the BMS reduces current output to protect the cells. Stop the cut, remove the battery, and let it cool for 10 minutes in open air before resuming. Avoid back-to-back heavy cuts without short breaks between passes.
After leaving my Einhell battery unused for several months, the charger won't start — it just blinks and does nothing. Is the pack dead?
Not necessarily. Cells that have self-discharged below roughly 2.5V per cell sit outside the charger's normal acceptance window, so the charger refuses to start a standard charge cycle. Connect the pack to the charger and leave it untouched for 15–20 minutes — the charger will attempt a low-current pre-charge to recover cell voltage above 3.0V per cell before switching to full charge. If it hasn't moved past blinking red after 20 minutes, clean the battery terminals with a dry cloth and reconnect firmly.
