Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Electrolux PQ91-40GG Series — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (405 54 78-29/3)
This is a 21.6V 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Electrolux PQ91-40GG and related cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part 405 54 78-29/3 (also listed as 4055478293 and 140231463013). Compatible models include the PQ91-P40GG, ES62AB25UG, and ES62CB25DH, among others.
- PQ91 and ES62 platform fitment: These models share the same 21.6V battery rail, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol. The battery pack dimensions are 87 × 82 × 54.3mm, matching the original slot geometry across the series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a PQ91-series unit. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination, temperature monitoring, and motor-start current draw without tripping the overcurrent cutoff under normal operating load.
- Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging accelerates capacity fade on Li-ion cells faster than on other device types. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next cleaning session.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually from a partially blocked filter or a restricted airpath. The increased current draw causes voltage to sag at the cell level before the indicator registers low charge. The BMS reads the sag as a low-battery condition and reduces output to protect the cells. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — suction should hold consistently through a full charge cycle once airflow restriction is removed.
Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage — a carpet pile jam, a clogged brush roll, or a sealed filter — current spikes beyond the BMS threshold and it shuts the motor down. The pack recovers once current drops, which is why the vacuum restarts after a brief pause. Clear the blockage, check the brush roll for hair wrap, and confirm the filter is clean. If the cutout persists after clearing restrictions, measure the pack voltage at rest — it should read 24.0–25.2V on a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Electrolux PQ91 loses suction halfway through cleaning but the battery indicator still shows full — what's causing that?
A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes cell voltage to sag even when the battery is not depleted. The motor throttles back in response to the sag, so suction drops before the indicator moves. Remove and clean the filter, then clear any hair wrap from the brush roll. Retest — if suction holds steady after that, the battery is fine and the restriction was the cause.
The replacement battery charges fine but the vacuum cuts out after a few seconds on carpet and restarts on its own — is the battery faulty?
That cutout pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell fault. Heavy carpet creates sustained high-torque demand; if the brush roll is even partially restricted by hair or debris, the current spike trips the overcurrent threshold and the BMS shuts output down until the load drops. Clear the brush roll completely, confirm the filter is unobstructed, then retest on a hard floor first. If the cutout stops, carpet pile was the trigger — not the battery.
I left my PQ91 on the charging dock for several weeks and now it runs noticeably shorter than before — is that normal?
Continuous dock charging keeps the cells at 100% with a trickle current running through them, which degrades Li-ion capacity faster than regular charge-and-remove cycles. This effect is more pronounced on cordless vacuums than on tools that sit idle between uses, because the dock is always live. The capacity loss from prolonged dock charging is permanent and will not reverse with cycling. Going forward, charge the battery fully and remove the vacuum from the dock — do not return it until the next charge is needed.
