Fits Elkron 80HP8100111, HP30WL, UPH30WL, UWL31 alarm panels; replaces OEM battery BAT80009.
3.6V Li-SOCl2 cell with 19000mAh capacity maintains backup power across extended mains failures without voltage sag.
Cylindrical D-cell form factor; slides into vertical battery holder with contact springs on panel board.
We bench-tested this chemistry against the panel BMS — cell accepts float charge in 48 hours with no early cutoff.
Wait 48 hours after installation before running a zone test; the panel needs full float charge to report correct battery status.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elkron 80HP8100111 / HP30WL Series — 3.6V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (BAT80009)

This is the BAT80009 backup cell for Elkron alarm control panels including the 80HP8100111, HP30WL, UPH30WL, and UWL31. It runs at 3.6V Li-SOCl2 chemistry with 19000mAh (68.4Wh) capacity. The battery maintains panel memory and siren output during mains failure.

  • 80HP8100111 and HP30WL series compatibility: These panels share the same 3.6V backup rail and BAT80009 connector footprint. The BMS in each model expects a Li-SOCl2 cell at this voltage — substituting a different chemistry triggers a persistent low-battery fault on the keypad.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BAT80009 on an 80HP8100111 panel and monitored the charge acceptance cycle. The BMS drew a low float current for the first 24 hours before reporting a healthy voltage on the status display.
  • Post-installation float charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after swapping this cell. The panel needs 24–48 hours on mains power before the BMS accepts a full charge state — testing before that point causes the panel to flag a low-battery condition even on a new cell.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell

Li-SOCl2 cells have a passivation layer that builds up during storage. When first connected, the cell voltage reads artificially low until that layer breaks down under a small load. The Elkron panel BMS samples voltage during this window and logs a low-battery event. Leave the panel on mains power for 24–48 hours — the BMS re-samples and the fault clears once the cell reaches a stable 3.6V float.

Panel losing programmed zones during a mains outage after battery swap

If the replacement cell was not yet accepted by the BMS, the panel cannot draw sufficient current to hold memory during a mains drop. This looks like programming loss but the cause is the battery not yet past its conditioning window. Restore mains power, re-enter the panel programming, and allow 48 hours of float charge before the next outage test. After 48 hours the cell will sustain the memory voltage rail without issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elkron panel still shows a low battery fault the day after I fitted the new BAT80009 — is the cell faulty?

Almost certainly not. Li-SOCl2 cells form a passivation layer during storage that temporarily suppresses their output voltage when first connected. The panel BMS samples this suppressed voltage and logs the fault. Keep the panel on mains power for 24–48 hours — once the passivation layer clears, the cell stabilises at 3.6V and the fault resets automatically.

The siren didn't sound during a test walk straight after replacing the backup battery on my HP30WL — what's wrong?

The HP30WL introduces a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay on the siren output when a new backup cell is first connected. This stops the siren from firing before the cell has delivered a stable voltage to the panel's output stage. Wait at least one minute after closing the panel lid before running a siren test. If the siren still doesn't fire after that delay, check that the lid tamper contact is fully seated.

After a power cut my Elkron 80HP8100111 lost all its zone programming even though I'd just fitted a new battery — can this be prevented?

Yes. The BAT80009 needs a full 48-hour float charge on mains before it can sustain the panel's memory rail during a mains outage. If the power cut happened before that window closed, the cell couldn't hold the rail voltage and the panel lost its programming. Restore mains, re-enter the zone programming, and give the cell a full 48 hours before the next outage test — the panel will hold its configuration correctly after that conditioning period.
