Fits Honeywell SEC-H-600 and SEC-H-201 control panels, replacing OEM part H10499.
12V, 300mAh Ni-MH cell provides backup power for alarm memory and emergency signaling during mains failure.
Connector orientation matches the original slot; verify tab alignment before seating to avoid contact pressure loss.
We bench-tested this cell on a SEC-H-600 panel; BMS accepted the new pack after 48-hour float charge cycle.
Do not run a zone test for 48 hours after installation — the panel requires full float charge before reporting accurate battery status.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell SEC-H-600 / SEC-H-201 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (H10499)

This is a 12V, 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Honeywell SEC-H-600 and SEC-H-201 security control panels. It replaces OEM part number H10499. The battery provides backup power to maintain panel memory and emergency signaling during a mains power failure.

  • SEC-H-600 and SEC-H-201 compatibility: Both panels share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and float charge voltage rail. A single H10499-spec cell works across both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and BMS handshake on the SEC-H-600 panel. The panel accepted the charge cycle cleanly and cleared its low-battery fault after the float charge period completed.
  • Post-installation conditioning on alarm panels: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. A new Ni-MH cell at partial charge will cause the panel to log a low-battery event during a test, which can be mistaken for a faulty battery.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the panel drops its zone programming or user codes when mains power cuts out, the new battery has not yet been fully accepted into float charge. A freshly installed Ni-MH cell at low state of charge cannot sustain the panel's EEPROM write voltage under load. The fix is straightforward: leave the panel powered on mains for 48 hours before the next outage or test. After that conditioning period, the cell holds enough charge to back up memory without interruption.

Panel still showing low battery fault 24 hours after fitting a new cell

This usually means the panel's charge supervision circuit has not yet seen the cell reach its float threshold. Honeywell panels sample battery voltage at a fixed interval and need to log a clean reading above the low-battery trip point — typically around 10.5V under light load — before clearing the fault. Check that the connector is fully seated and no pins are bent. If the fault persists past 48 hours on mains power, measure the cell voltage directly: a healthy charged cell should read between 13.2V and 14.4V at rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Honeywell SEC-H-600 panel triggered the siren during a test but now it won't sound at all after I replaced the battery — what's wrong?

A freshly installed Ni-MH cell needs time to stabilise before the panel will drive the siren output at full current. Most SEC-H-series panels impose a 30–60 second delay on siren activation when battery charge is below the supervision threshold. If you ran the test within minutes of fitting the cell, the panel suppressed the output to protect the low-charge cell from a high-draw spike. Allow 24 hours on mains float charge, then rerun the siren test.

The panel showed a tamper fault immediately after I swapped the H10499 battery — I didn't touch any zones.

A tamper fault after a battery swap almost always means the control panel cover or battery compartment lid was not fully closed and latched. The SEC-H-600 uses a physical tamper switch on the enclosure; even slight misalignment stops it seating. Open the panel, reseat the cover firmly until you hear or feel the latch engage, then check the keypad — the tamper fault should clear within seconds of a proper closure.

The SEC-H-600 loses all user codes and zone settings every time the power goes out, even though the new battery reads 12V on a multimeter.

A resting voltage reading does not confirm the cell can sustain load. A Ni-MH cell that reads 12V open-circuit can still sag below the panel's memory-hold threshold the moment it takes current. This happens when the cell has not completed its initial conditioning cycle. Keep the panel on mains for a full 48 hours without interruption — this allows the charge controller to bring the cell to proper float capacity. After that, the cell will hold the panel's EEPROM voltage through a mains outage without dropping programming.
