Fits Ring Alarm Home Base Pro Station; replaces OEM part number 5E42E9.
7.4V 3400mAh cell delivers 25.16Wh backup power for continuous alarm monitoring during mains outages.
Connector seats flush into the battery bay with a single locking tab on the left side.
We bench-tested this cell in a Home Base Pro unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
Do not run a zone test or system diagnostic for 24–48 hours after installation — the panel needs full float charge time to report battery status accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ring Alarm Home Base Pro Station — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (5E42E9)

This is a 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion battery for the Ring Alarm Home Base Pro Station. It slots into the hub's internal backup compartment and keeps the security system online when mains power drops. The OEM part number is 5E42E9.

  • Ring Alarm Home Base Pro compatibility: The Pro Station uses a dedicated 7.4V cell with a BMS handshake that communicates charge state directly to the Ring app. Voltage, connector type, and cell dimensions must all match the original spec — this battery meets all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle on the Home Base Pro and confirmed the BMS accepted the battery without fault codes. The hub reported charge status correctly via the Ring app within the expected window.
  • Float charge conditioning after installation: Do not run a diagnostic test or trigger a zone test immediately after fitting this battery. The panel BMS requires 24–48 hours on float charge before it accurately reports full capacity — testing too early may generate a false low-battery alert in the Ring app.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the Home Base Pro loses its configuration during an outage shortly after a battery swap, the new cell has not yet been fully accepted by the panel's BMS. The hub needs continuous mains power for 48 hours post-installation to complete the battery conditioning cycle. Until that cycle finishes, the backup cell may not hold enough charge to sustain the panel through an outage. Keep the hub on mains for 48 hours before testing backup behaviour.

Ring app shows "Low Battery" immediately after fitting a new cell

This is a BMS reporting lag, not a faulty battery. The Home Base Pro's internal charge monitor does not update the app until the cell has been on float charge for 24–48 hours after installation. The hub is still functional during this period — the low-battery flag is a status read from a cell the BMS has not yet fully characterised. Leave the hub connected to mains and the alert will clear once the float charge cycle completes at 8.4V terminal voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ring app still shows a low battery warning two days after I replaced the cell — is the new battery faulty?

Two days is right at the edge of the BMS conditioning window, but the cell is likely fine. The Home Base Pro's charge monitor reports status based on a learned capacity curve — it takes a full 24–48 hours on mains for that curve to update. Leave the hub plugged in and check the app again after 48 hours from installation; if the warning clears, the battery has been accepted. If it persists beyond 48 hours, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

My siren didn't sound during a test alarm right after I swapped the backup battery — what's wrong?

The Home Base Pro introduces a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay on a freshly installed backup cell before it will trigger the siren output. This is a built-in protection to prevent a partial-charge cell from being immediately loaded by the siren draw. Run the test again after the hub has been on mains for at least one hour. If the siren still doesn't fire, check the Ring app for any active fault codes under the device settings.

The Home Base Pro lost all its zone settings during a power cut even though I just put in a new battery — what happened?

The new cell needs 48 hours of continuous mains power to complete the BMS conditioning cycle before it can reliably sustain the hub through an outage. If a power cut happens before that cycle finishes, the cell may not deliver enough voltage to hold the panel's memory. Restore your zone programming via the Ring app, keep the hub on mains for a full 48 hours, then confirm backup readiness by checking the battery status in the Ring app shows 100% before the next outage.
