Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ESYLUX SLE / SLF Series (ab 2022) — 3.2V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (1634369)
This is a 3.2V, 1800mAh LiFePO4 cell rated at 5.76Wh, built to replace the original ESYLUX part number 1634369. It fits SLE and SLF emergency lighting units manufactured from 2022 onward. The LiFePO4 chemistry matches the charge profile the ESYLUX charge controller expects — substituting a different chemistry will cause charge faults.
- SLE and SLF (ab 2022) fit: ESYLUX revised the SLE and SLF charge circuitry from 2022 onward to accept LiFePO4 float voltage. Pre-2022 units used a different cell spec — check your fitting's production date label before ordering.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and a simulated mains-failure load test. The BMS held voltage within the correct LiFePO4 discharge window and recovered cleanly to float charge on reconnection.
- First-install test cycle: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This lets the charge controller register the new cell capacity before the next scheduled compliance check — skipping it can cause an early false fail on a duration test.
Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation
LiFePO4 cells lose voltage during storage. If the cell ships below the charge controller's float acceptance window — typically under 2.8V per cell — the controller flags a fault rather than entering normal charge mode. Leave the fitting powered for 12 to 24 hours. Most ESYLUX charge circuits will trickle-charge the cell back into the acceptance window and then step up to normal charge automatically. If the red indicator persists beyond 24 hours, measure the cell terminal voltage — anything above 2.5V means the controller should recover it; below that, the cell has deep-discharged past recovery threshold.
Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement
A brand-new LiFePO4 cell does not deliver its full rated capacity on the very first discharge — it typically takes one complete charge-discharge cycle to reach the 1800mAh spec. Running a compliance duration test before that first cycle is complete will show a shorter-than-rated run and log a fail. Complete one full manual test cycle immediately after installation, then allow a full 24-hour recharge before the formal compliance test. After that conditioning cycle the cell should meet the rated 5.76Wh capacity the fitting's test log expects.

Frequently Asked Questions
The emergency light dims noticeably partway through the test — is the new battery already failing?
No — this is a first-cycle capacity issue, not a faulty cell. A fresh LiFePO4 cell delivers below its rated 1800mAh on the first discharge; the available energy builds up over the first full charge-discharge cycle. Allow the fitting to charge for a full 24 hours after that initial test, then run the test again. The second cycle should hold full brightness across the rated duration.
The fitting's fault LED is still lit after we confirmed the new 1634369 cell is correctly seated and the fitting is powered — what's wrong?
Some ESYLUX SLE and SLF fittings latch the fault LED in hardware and do not clear it automatically when a new cell is installed. The cell being good does not reset the latch. Check your fitting's installation sheet for the manual reset procedure — on most units this is a specific sequence of the test button held for 5 to 10 seconds with mains power applied. If no reset sequence is documented, cycle mains power off for 30 seconds, then back on, which forces the charge controller to reinitialise and re-evaluate cell state.
The original cell swelled inside the fitting — is this a sign the new replacement will do the same?
Swelling in LiFePO4 cells installed in emergency fittings is almost always caused by years of continuous trickle charge at elevated ambient temperature rather than a cell defect. Check that the fitting's mounting location is not above a heat source and that the enclosure ventilation slots are clear. LiFePO4 chemistry is significantly more tolerant of overcharge conditions than older NiMH or NiCd cells, but sustained heat above 45°C will degrade any cell over time. Keep ambient temperature at the fitting below 40°C to stay within the cell's long-term operating spec.
