Fits ESYLUX SLE, SLF, and SLG emergency lighting units replacing OEM part EN10061998.
4.8V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers full capacity for rated duration testing on commercial exit sign systems.
Connector accepts standard slide-tab terminals; orientation locked by polarity keying on the fitting contact block.
We ran full discharge cycles on bench — BMS charge controller accepted the cell within first activation and held float voltage stable.
Run a manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for full duration — this confirms the new cell accepts load and allows the charge controller to register capacity before compliance testing.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ESYLUX SLE / SLF / SLG Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (EN10061998)

This is a 4.8V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery for ESYLUX SLE, SLF, and SLG emergency lighting units. It replaces OEM part EN10061998 and restores backup illumination during mains failure. Capacity is 9.6Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • SLE, SLF, and SLG compatibility: These three ESYLUX fitting lines share the same 4.8V cell arrangement, connector pinout, and charge controller interface — the same EN10061998 pack fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and a simulated mains-fail activation. The BMS accepted charge without fault, and the cell held voltage under load through the full test duration.
  • First-installation test cycle: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This confirms the new cell accepts load and lets the charge controller register the new capacity before your next scheduled compliance inspection.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed Ni-MH cell does not always arrive at full capacity — storage depletes it. ESYLUX charge controllers apply a float charge after installation, but the cell may need one complete charge-discharge cycle before it reaches rated capacity. If the unit cuts out before the required test duration, do not condemn the battery yet. Charge the fitting on mains for 24 hours, then rerun the test from a full charge state.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

Some ESYLUX fittings will hold a red or fault LED if the incoming cell voltage sits outside the controller's float acceptance window — common when a battery has been in storage. The controller reads the resting voltage on first contact and may latch a fault rather than begin charging. Remove the battery, leave it disconnected for 60 seconds, then refit it so the controller re-polls the cell voltage from rest. If the indicator moves to amber within a few minutes, charging has started and the fault will clear at full charge, typically around 5.4–5.6V across the pack.

Frequently Asked Questions

The emergency light dims noticeably within the first few minutes of a test — does that mean the new battery is faulty?

Not necessarily. A Ni-MH cell that has been in storage often arrives partially discharged, and the charge controller's float current is too low to fully condition it in the first few hours. The dimming you see is voltage sag from a cell that has not yet reached its rated capacity — not a defective cell. Charge the fitting on mains for a full 24 hours, then rerun the test; a properly conditioned cell will sustain output through the full rated duration.

The fitting still shows a fault LED after I've confirmed the new EN10061998 battery is correctly seated — how do I clear it?

On many ESYLUX SLE/SLF/SLG fittings, the fault LED is latched in firmware and does not self-clear after a battery swap. Disconnect the battery connector, wait 60 seconds for the controller capacitors to discharge, then reconnect — this forces the controller to re-initialise and re-poll the cell. If the LED shifts from red to amber, the charge cycle has started and the indicator will move to green once pack voltage reaches approximately 5.4V.

Can the battery swell or deform if left in the fitting for several years without replacement?

Yes. ESYLUX fittings apply a continuous trickle charge to keep the cell topped up, and over several years — especially in fittings mounted near heat sources or in poorly ventilated ceilings — that sustained low current at elevated temperature causes Ni-MH cells to overheat and gas internally, which deforms the casing. If you see a visibly swollen pack, remove it immediately and do not attempt to recharge it. Replace the cell and check that the fitting's ambient temperature does not exceed the 35°C storage limit marked on the EN10061998 cell label.
