Fits ETA 5241 Aurum and 6241 Aurum cordless vacuums, replacing OEM part BP14452C.
Delivers 14.4V at 5200mAh capacity — sustained voltage under motor load on carpet and hard floors without sag-induced cutout.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive tab forward; locking clip engages flush on dock contact points.
We charged through the ETA dock charger and confirmed the BMS accepted the handshake on first insertion with no fault codes.
Remove the battery from the dock immediately after full charge — continuous trickle charging on these vacuums degrades capacity within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 5241 Aurum / 6241 Aurum — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP14452C)

This is a 14.4V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the ETA 5241 Aurum and 6241 Aurum cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part BP14452C (also cross-referenced as 98600). Voltage, connector, and BMS communication all match the original specification.

  • 5241 and 6241 Aurum compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V power rail and use the identical BP14452C battery connector and BMS handshake. One cell fits either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the ETA charging circuit and confirmed BMS handshake, charge acceptance, and cut-off under load. The overcurrent protection tripped correctly when airflow was restricted to simulate a blocked filter — normal behaviour, not a fault.
  • Dock charging practice for ETA stick vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between every use. The ETA Aurum dock applies a continuous trickle once full, and Li-ion cells in this voltage class degrade noticeably faster when held at full charge indefinitely. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. When the filter is partially blocked or the dust cup is full, the motor draws more current than rated. The battery's internal resistance causes voltage to sag under that elevated draw, and the vacuum's electronics read it as low power and reduce motor speed. The battery is not faulty — clear the filter and empty the dust cup first. If suction restores immediately, the cell is fine.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip. The ETA Aurum motor draws a surge current when suction is restricted — most often a clogged HEPA filter or blocked nozzle. The BMS reads that spike as an unsafe current event and disconnects the cell. After a brief cool-down, it resets automatically. Check and clean the filter; if the motor draws normal current through clean airflow, the battery will not trip again. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter, verify charger output is reaching 16.8V at end of charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ETA Aurum battery used to last a full clean but now dies halfway through — what went wrong?

Capacity fade from continuous dock charging is the most common cause on the Aurum range. Li-ion cells held at full charge on a trickle current lose usable capacity faster than cells charged only when depleted. If the battery has been sitting on the dock between every use for months, the cells have likely degraded. Going forward, charge only when the vacuum is nearly flat and remove it from the dock once full — this alone slows further fade.

The ETA Aurum motor keeps shutting off and restarting on its own — is the battery faulty?

Most likely not. The BMS trips on overcurrent, which happens when restricted airflow forces the motor to pull more current than its rated draw. We reproduced this on the bench by blocking the inlet — the cell disconnected within seconds and reset after cooling. Remove the filter and clean it thoroughly, then check the nozzle and dust cup. If the cut-outs stop on a clean filter, the battery is working as intended.

The new BP14452C battery won't charge in the ETA dock — what should I check first?

The Aurum charger expects a BMS handshake before it begins charging; if the dock LED does not respond at all, check that the battery contacts are fully seated — the connector must click in completely. If the dock LED lights but the charge cycle does not complete, measure charger output voltage at the dock pins; it should reach approximately 16.8V at full charge. A dock delivering under 16V is the charger failing, not the battery.
